I applied in-store and got declined of course for a GE/TJX Rewards Card. This is the first time I have ever had GE pull EX for me, and the app was done in PA.

I always received auto-CLIs on my GE/Bels Furniture account, but noticed they hadn't given one in 6-7 months. I called the 800 number for a CLI through their automated system, and was hit with a HARD on experian!!! I was a little livid, to say the least.

Datapoint.

I applied yesterday for a Roomstogo account, DENIED! I did my homework, They usually pull EQ in VA for a RTG account, nope. Pulled EX.

I immediately froze experian. Strangeness is going on.

Oh oh, this is starting to look like a trend. :o

I requested and got a Walmart CLI on the usual schedule (4 months + 1 day) in mid March; no hard pull.

My next scheduled CLI is Lowe's, three weeks from now... I hope nothing has changed. I'd hate to have to freeze EX.

Yea I'm wondering what is going on myself. Back in 2010 when I had my GE collage all the pulls were EQ. This is the first time I had an EX pull from them, I am wondering if there is a difference in-store vs. online.

Don't know how new this is. I applied for a Walmart in store last March, and was denied. EX was pulled. I applied online in June and was approved. TU was pulled,

Good data point. Online it was TU for me, in Walmart it was EQ.

Hubby and I each had a hard inq from Wal-Mart in store apps. I think that in store apps are hit and miss with GE...online apps are usually TU. I don't think there is anything strange or different going on. I've read a few people say that their in store app turned out to be EX when they expected TU.
