I am proud to say that my TU is officially clean. I disputed off my car loan the other night as obsolete. It was gone in 12 hours. I went through lending club to see my FICO this afternoon and it was 739. I have 1 card at 90% util because of 0% interest deal but we transferred that to a 0% for 18 month card so when that happens and reports my overall util will be around 3%. I can't wait to see what my score does when I have perfect pay history, no baddies, and 3% util. Now if I can only get my car off 1 of the other 2 I can reapply for mortgage and my mid score should be in the mid 700s.

THANK YOU CREDITBOARDS AND ALL OF THE GREAT CONTRIBUTORS.

My current FICO is 538 and hers is 612

Thank you for reading.. Now let the good times roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A little over a year removed and our current FICOs (the highest of the 3) are me 775 and her 739. After re reading my first post in this thread I truely can not believe we have made it this far. The only thing that I am having a tough time going away are the stupid pay day loans that I took out. The calls have gone from 6 a day down to a few a month. I can tell when one scammer sells my info to the next because I get a ton of calls for about a week and then they go away for 6-8 weeks. I am hoping as time goes on they will eventually fade away.

Such inspiring progress...thank you for your story, futurehomeowner! And +1 on the payday loan vultures...I hope they eventually get bored enough to disappear altogether.

Thank you for posting your journey! I am new to the boards and just starting to read and read and read... It can get overwhelming with the amount of new information, so it is sooo helpful to read a journey like yours to inspire me! When I am ready I hope to start a thread similar to yours and get as good results as you did.

On Monday we are closing on our house and my repair journey will officially be over. I am planning my app spree for Monday night/Tuesday morning

We don't do a ton of spending so I am going with a few cards that give decent perks such as 0%, discounts, and rewards

I plan on getting (notice I said getting and not just applying)

1. Home Depot

2. Lowes

3. Kohls

4. Hilton Honors

5. Southwest Visa

There is nothing else that I can think of that we need, any suggestions are appreciated.

I meant to apply under my wifes name since she is not on the home loan but I wasn't thinking. Owell, shouldn't matter. By far my largest credit line.

Congratulations! Your application for Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Premier Card has been approved.

You'll receive your new card and Cardmember Agreement in 7-10 business days. When your card arrives, please confirm you received it by logging on to Chase.com or calling the toll-free number provided.

  • Your new account has a Credit Access Line of $12,000.
If this does not meet your needs, you can discuss available credit line options with a Customer Service Specialist when you call to confirm receipt of your card.

Congrats on your successful journey ... just read your whole thread! I just started this year (March 2015). Hoping my journey will be as successful as yours! Our goals are a little different: refinance our car loan ... Improve our business options for credit!

Well I just effed myself for the first time since repair. I have 3 chase cards. Limits are 12k, 8k, and 5k. I ave balances on all 3 which were due to 0% offers which worked out great when we bought the house for stuff we needed. Anyways, my 12k card has $1400 on it and I wanted to pay it off this month. I needed to wait for paycheck which was the 10th. My tracker had this card due on the 11th. I went in to make the payment on the 10th and it showed due on the 9th. Ok no biggy I PIF and move on. Today I log in to pay my other cards which are due next week and I see they balance chased me on all 3 cards. They took them to 5k, 2.5, and 3.1. I am so annoyed at myself that over being 1 day late by accident they killed 15k in available credit which shot my util up by 16%. Sigh.

That sounds like an outsized response. Do you have high utilization on other cards? Any recent lates on other accounts (and have you double checked to be sure)?

I only have 1 other card with a balance and it is at 50% with 0% transfers. I did have a FR with chase about 3 months ago but the rep said everything was ok.

Not sure what is going on. I guess I could call but I assume nothing would be done.

Oh, and I have not checked reports I'm about a month but was at 721 last time I checked with no baddies. I will check tomorrow, we have plans today and don't want to be annoyed if something bad popped up.

I haven't heard of a Chase FR. They have their eyes on you...

Enjoy your day and update us when you know more.

Hmm that's my luck. I wonder if it had something to do with 3 new chase cards for 20k, then 100k mortgage a month later. Then 10k charged on the cards in short time on my crappy income.

I just checked all 3 reports even though I said I wouldnt. No negatives and chase has not even soft pulled me. I guess they just don't like me. I don't even think I screwed them in my bad credit days.
