NEED HELP. TOTALLY CLUELESS!!

So here's my dilemma. I had to go to counseling a long time ago and the bill was tossed back and forth between my mom and insurance. I was 17 years old when all of this happened. Needless to say it went into collections. My credit report suffered from this because there were 8 sessions that were not paid for and so i have 8 derogatory marks on my credit report now! I have paid them off in full and was told I can dispute them and have them totally removed from my credit report! (YAY!) My qeuestion is how long will this take to show up on my report and how much do you think my score will increase? My score was a 618. My fiance and I are looking to buy a house but because of me we can't because I need to at least be at a 640. Do you guys think my score will at least bump to a 640 once these 8 remarks are completely removed?? Thanks everyone!!!

I'm no expert, but I'm crossing my fingers for you. I would think that any debt incurred when you were a minor would be your parents' responsibility, not yours! Hopefully Why Chat will respond with the requisite wisdom of how to word the disputes. Proof of your age compared with the dates of service would certainly establish that you were not an adult yet! Can't wait to see a good result for you!
