No negative tradelines

OK but lets check out wonderful Sallie Mae:

Sallie-Mae-Debt-Being-Paid-Through-Insurance-WTF.jpg

See under "Creditor's Statement"? It says "Debt being paid through insurance."

I have TWO accounts form Sallie Mae that turned positive this month. One did automatically but the other I ended up having to dispute the Payment Status because it said "Claim filed with governement". Well the disputes came back on it and they did in fact update the payment status to "Transferred/Never Late"

BUT under creditor's statemnt it clearly still says that I defaulted and the government paid.

So even though it may be a "Positive" tradeline, a smart person who has seen a lot of credit reports would instantly know that I defaulted and that the accounts just aged into good tradelines.

These two are from 2003 so if I disputed them and lost them completely, that would be a major bummer. I have fought so much and so hard with Sallie Mae though I find it hard to just leave it be LOL. I want if completely spotless!

I guess I'll hav to phone in another round of disputes :/

Anyways, just wanted to give yall a heads up..check those reports closely because they are finding new ways to keep this crap bothering you!

I think as long as it says NEVER late, you are fine. Unless someone has a sharp eye and does a manual review, I don't think it will affect you.

I had a somewhat similar experience with HSBC. They deleted all of my late payment history and reported as transferred/closed. My score improved.

Yeah thats what I was counting on. At first it was under Negative Accounts but I disputed that and they removed the "G" for Claim Filed With Government from November 2012's payment history and voila! its a positive account with no lates.

Im content with it like that I suppose. Like we both said...it would take a really keen eye and even if they did see it Im sure nobody cares but me LOL

Unless someone is manually reviewing your accounts for a mortgage loan or a CLI, I think it's good to go. Even if it's manually reviewed, they'd probably just ask you why it has that notation.

For my weird TL, I plan on feigning ignorance and guessing that the account was sold to a company that is too cheap to report full data.

My SM reports the same way but it it listed as negative, but positive payment history with the same notation. How did you get this sorted out?

I have a letter from Sallie Mae stating when my account first went into delinquency 30+ days. Sent it in a coupl times..didnt work.

Finally I phoned in and had a nice conversation with a nice lady about the whole situation and she puit together a dispute for me and a couple weeks later BAM positive. Just has that remark I mentioned.

Id suggest calling in and speaking with someone. Just be very polite and patient.

If it has NO late payments in the payment history FOR SURE..thn Id say check the payment STATUS to make sure there isnt any mention of "Claim" or "insurance".

Dispute that payment status as incorrect and that it should say "Transferred/Closed/Never Late"

That is, IF your Date of First Delinquency is over 7 years ago?
