Hi, cb users,

I'm new to credit repair but, been reading a lot on this forum. I have a collection for at&t (oc) with afni, inc. afni sent me a few letters but I never responded.

so I'ts passed the dunning period. Recently I received a call from them on my wife's cell phone ( don't know how they got that number) I was asked if I lived at an old address and I answered what is this about. They said at&t I said don't know what you are talking about I will send you a dv letter they said fine, end of conversation. I sent them dv cmrrr the same day. got green card back in like a week and, called cra to dispute. dispute came back verified never revived validation from ca. the collection is for around 200.00. does anyone have any suggestions. should i send them a its letter even thou its passed the dunning period or just ask for a ptd. anyone have any experience with afin

I'm battling them right now. After disputing and verifying and fighting for a couple years, I finally sent them a PFD letter this week. I haven't heard back yet (haven't gotten the green card back yet). But I will be happy to let you know how it goes!
I had a couple other posters say they are easy to get rid of with DV. When I disputed, they dropped the amount by over half. Which was nice, but still didn't fix the problem. So I'm anxiously awaiting their response.

I had them from an old verizon (alltel) account. I disputed them online and they deleted it. I may have gotten lucky

pea-jay,

what was the wed address you used or email for on line dispute

On a dispute like this, I would do it by mail. Yes, there will always be someone who gets lucky by disputing online, but the odds are much more in your favor by disputing by mail. Find all of the inaccuracies in the reporting of that tradeline, and use that as the basis for your dispute.
