Okay, so I have been doing fairly well on my repair journey. I am still waiting on my Equifax report in the mail after sending them my updated identification, but I looked on Citi and figured I could start with that.

I have 3 things that I have questions about.

1 - Collection (TU). This was post BK and was for a gym membership that stupid me decided to sign up for a year for, and only used for a couple of months. This was about $90 a month and I just stopped paying. I eventually did PIF (8/2010), but I was not aware of this PFD stuff until recently. It is through Affiliated Acceptance Corporation (http://www.profinserv.com/). How do I go about removing this from my report? Simply call and ask?

2 - Addresses. Equifax reports my former as my current, my current as my second former, and also a former from 2007. All show as reported 12/2012. Experian has my current correct and also my 2 formers, and TU the same. I would like for only the current to be reported.

3 - Employment. Equifax does not report any, and Experian and TU both show my current and one former each. Both formers are different. How important is it for a CRA to have a current employer? Is it advisable to remove formers?

Thanks! Other than that I have to let a bunch of hards fall off over the next year or so, and other than Navy I don't foresee myself pursuing any other cards (maybe an auto loan refi..). This should clear up my report and make it all accurate and current. In the meantime, I will be increasing utilization by decreasing balances.

I love this board!

First, always opt-out.

I would also dispute addresses in letter form, not online so that you always have written proof. Just list the "inaccurate" addresses and ask they be removed. Then, tell them what your current address is (however, your current would be listed on the envelope and your Driver's license copy so you may not have to. If you license isn't current, make it current because its the law).

I don't believe it matters for credit purposes whether your job is listed. The only jobs that were listed for me were the Gap and J. Crew from my youthful days!

As for the collection, was it paid or reported when you were living somewhere else? If yes, then wait until that address has been removed from your reports because of the above action and then dispute it with the TU. (in letter form, of course). I'm pretty sure the collection agency that you paid will not remove it if you ask. They have no incentive to. You don't owe them and you don't have the possibility of being a future customer. You could also do what's called the 1-2 punch but I'm not sure how well that works when it is already paid because the collection agency may not have to validate for you anymore.

Best bet is to dispute with CRA after address is gone. Even if the address is your current address, it doesn't hurt by first trying to dispute with TU. Sometimes, these things just get deleted when you least expect them to especially if they are already paid.

Joseph C unchained - right!! That's what I meant.. LOL!

Now IIRC, I just say that those are not my addresses?

:good: and :clapping: Red Bull on me! Put it on my tab. I just struggled through "identity Thief." What a waste. (Best part was when the dude smashed her with the guitar. People like her.. are real, and they suck.)

And.. Say they are "innacurate" but DON'T say "Not mine!" You'll get an FA that way. :good:
