I have several parking tickets that i do not believe to be mine but, the only way i found out about them Is from filing my tax return last year. I was sent a letter saying xxx amount of your return is being off set to professional account management So all tickets were paid. I called PAM to have them validate"this was before I joined cb" they told me I have to call the City, in this case that would be the OC. Called the OC they said I had to deal with PAM nether one could give me any validation and they didn't care to since they already helped them self to my tax returns. So upset that they could even do that. This January I pulled my Free Annual Credit Report and there ARE 19 PARKING TICKETS ON THERE i could not believe my eyes 19 items and no one can validate. they are all paid collections but, this has to be doing some damage to my score.

Anyone have any idea how i should deal with this

one I would like to have them all removed

two I would like to get my money back

When it comes to getting your money back, i dont think it will happen, and a paid collection is still a collection and will hold the same weight when it comes to affecting your credit. in my opinion the best thing for you to do is either dispute the accounts with the creditor and the credit bureaus or hire a credit wiping company to remove the negative items for a fee.

Was there anything in particular you were going to do in which you needed good credit.

I would think that if you go down to your city's parking authority, they would have to produce to you copies of all the parking tickets they claim you owe, regardless if they are paid or not. I would be suspicious of any claim where they say a ticket cannot be furnished.

Have you disputed the collections on your credit report?

I would also DV the debt collector to see if they can produce any documentation relating to the parking tickets.

i did go to parking atharity and all they gave me was some bogus print out no license plate number or name or vin just the time and place it happened so do I first send them a dv and jack attack cra's with all disputes or do i just send out gw letter and hope they remove

so get this, I have a rental property i bought from the city January of 2012, the city required i have this sublet called DNS do inspection after we closed on the property we had to pay for all inspections prier to renting unit out. i had inspections done, paid all the fees, and this month we get our tax bill and low and behold there is $1500.00 in fees on the bill. If I were in your shoes, and I knew the parking tickets were legitimately not mine, and the city was trying to scam me, I would make an appt to go into traffic court and try to have a judge invalidate all the tickets especially if the city could not provide a name or plate number.

Then maybe you could also get your money back as well as make them all disappear from your credit report.

  • 1 month later...

What city are you in? I'm in Milwaukee, WI and I posted a similar thread here about 4 years ago. Apparently many cities do not put parking tickets on your credit report.

But if you're in Milwaukee, my suggestion Unfortunately is accept the loss and move on; or get an attorney. They will not even speak to you in regards to past due violations! No clue how this is fair but they just give you the run around. So hopefully you're not here or things have changed.
