Well apparently GECRB is in the Christmas spirit!!!! I called the UW number on the board here and got increases on the cards listed below!!!! They are DEFINITELY the most generous with CLI's!!!!!! :yahoo:

 

WM Discover -----$5000 --> $7500 ($1600 bal)

Amazon store card--- $2500 ---> $10K ($63 bal) :swoon:

GAP Visa ------ $6000 --> $10K ($1500 bal)

 

Been doing some shopping thus the reason for the balances......

 

I also logged into my Dillards AMEX account last night and was pleasantly surprised to see that they had auto CLI me from $600 to $3K!!!!! It has a $0 balance....

 

So in the last 2 days GECRB has given me another $16.4K in available credit,,,,,just awesome!!!!!!!!

 

 

I highly recommend that if you have GE cards to call the UW number and request a CLI. They are VERY easy to talk to and the process only takes a couple of minutes.

Hey Congrats! I am in need of a long overdue CLI on my Amazon store card. What number did you call?

 

 

 

 

The GECRB U/W number is 877-379-8173. There is a huge thread about calling this number for the majority of the GE cards. They'll verify your info and then ask you how much you want to increase limit to. Don't be afraid to ask for a lot. If they won't give you what you ask for, they will counter with a different number and you can choose to accept. This is a soft inquiry on your TU report, so doesn't hurt your scores.

Tried for CLI from $1200-$6000. Wouldn't give it to me. Said I would receive letter in mail. 760 TU Fico*. Did a soft pull, had card for over 2 years. Currently $0 balance. Hmmm, guess who will never be used ever again lol. Have 20k limit credit lines, no derogs, utilization is a little high however so is income.

Don't know but I have been wanting to close the card for a while now. It really serves no purpose unless I want a 0% offer once a year which I don't. Amazon and Jared may be on the chopping block come January.

GECRB doesn't like me all that much. $300 AE is all I am good for. Bah humbug. They don't like me? I won't care about them.

Wow, they really do make it easy. Had a $4600 CL on my Wal-Mart Discover, requested $10000 telling them I wanted to take advantage of a 0% financing offer I got in my email. Barely 2 minutes on hold, and they gave me $10000.

 

 

 

ETA:...sadly enough, bringing Wal-Mart from my lowest CL at $1600 to my highest CL at $10000 in just over a month.

This post inspired me to ask for love on my Amazon store card. $3500 to $10000 was my increase. She asked about my income and put me on hold for a few minutes and that was it. No hard pulls, just a soft on my TU. I think I'm going to apply for their Walmart & Lowes cards as well. This is my only card from them at the moment and I've had it for less than 6 months. Good stuff!

Stupid Discover would not give me anything as usual....I've had the card for a year and NO increases.....back to the sock drawer for you Discover........;)

 

 

Gonna try my AE Visa and TJ Max card and then I'm done!!!!!!

 

 

Been a good run....hope you guys have some good luck with your increases.....

She asked for my take-home income and came back 3 minutes later with an approval.

 

I should have asked for more but I was afraid of getting turned down for being too greedy.

Is it possible they could be handing out temporary CLIs for the holidays then will zap them right back down?

 

BTW, I called in for my Walmart and Amazon store cards, and here is what I got:

 

(old limit --> requested increase limit --> received increase limit)

 

Walmart: $1700 --> $10K --> $5K

Amazon: $1200 --> $10K --> $5K

If you ask for too much, they will counter with a lower offer....better to ask for too much than to wished that you did when they approve what you ask for.....

So I got my AE Visa CL increased to $10K from $2500....the rep did ask me that she had noticed that I had requested increases on a lot of my cards and why had I done that. she said she wanted to make sure I wasn't a victim of identity theft......I told her that I was doing some shopping for Christmas and I didn't want the balances on my cards to affect my utilization....she said she understood and thanked me for being honest with her.....

 

 

Think I'll wait a week of so before I request an increase on my TJ Maxx card...just in case....
