I have 2 charge-offs. One from HSBC (now Capital-One) from 2007 and another from Citifinancial from 2009. Both are being reported by CAs. I have sent a DV letter to the CAs. How do I deal with the charge-offs being that they are old but still in SOL? Should I send a PFD to the OC? Or do I DV the OC first?

I too have some COs but I wouldn't want to poke the bear too hard bc they can can still sue you

as senior members in this forum have told me personally "you should never offr a PFD while the debt is in SOL, it's like telling them I GOT THE MONEY COME AND GET IT" why would they agree i they know you got th emoney and they could just sue you? unless it for for small amounts not worth suing for under 1000 usually

I didn't do anything. I ignored it all and it is all finally gone and I have good credit and am careful and responsible. I got lucky as nobody sued me, including Cap. One. Once it was all out of SOL for a while, I began rebuilding and continued to ignore the junk debt buyers that inundated me. May not work for everyone! I just didn't have it in me to fight anything off so chose to wait it out. I did read a lot on here to learn what not to do, etc. and how to rebuild. Good luck!
