I accidentally just got given this by a paypal rep. It is the direct line for the underwriters on some GECRB products.

I don't know the full range of cards these UW's do, but I do know it is at least Paypal, Amazon, Lowes, JC Penney. The UW didn't want to tell me anymore after that tongue.gif

** Update on 5/10/15 - This is bizarre, but somehow it is my accidental karma to get Synchrony (GECRB) direct underwriter phone numbers. The rep (without me asking) gave me the phone number today to their senior underwriters... this team is in America where as the number above is in Hyderabad India. If you get denied with the phone number above on a CLI request, you can try this new number as well - but I would tread lightly with the new number.

Well Well Well I can confirm it works with Walmart. My current limit is $900. I was denied a CLI a few days ago via the automated system. So I called and asked if the would reconsider my recent denial of a CLI. The LO asked me how much I wanted and what for. I told her I wanted a new Plasma TV that costs around $2k but did not want to max out so I asked for $2,500. After some security questions and a brief hold. Approved!! new CL $2,500 effective immediately.

Don't know if it resulted in a hard pull I'll update when I find out....

Congratulations. As I understand it, if you talk to UW and they go through your credit, there will ALWAYS be a hard pull.

They pull TU, and TU pulls often take 2-3 days for USAA to show em.

Nope. I did five of these last week, only one that was a hard pull was Care Credit, which I'm told is their MO for some reason. All the rest were softs.

Mr. Media - did you do automated pulling or did you actually have an underwriter review your credit file?

The UW told me directly this a.m they cannot do a manual review without pulling credit, and that they pull TU

These were all voice calls, with UW department for each card, and none generated a hard.

OK figured WTH and tried with my JcPenney card. Called and was advised they don't handle JCP but would transfer me to the correct UW Dept. After giving him my gross income went from $1,500 to $3,500 within minutes...Now I'm thinking I've should of asked for more....But I'm happy!!!

Congrats. I'm guessing I could have asked for more with Walmart too, they gave me $10k at Sam's, no reason not to have $10k with Wally too... but I played it safe, and the jump to $7k was more than double the current line.

I figure you can always call again some day down the road...

I wanted to play it safe too considering my BK and a IIB Lowe's acct. I'll wait 4 months and try again.

I completely stand corrected. They do not pull hards. And because I trusted you guys I just had my following two GECRB lines bumped.

Walmart Discover from 1k to 10k

Paypal smart connect from 5k to 10k

Thanks Mr. Media

Ditto for me too. I usually don't jump on bandwagons too quickly but figured I'd better try this one before they reroute the number Kayve posted above and the original thread Mr. Media posted the other day gets to be about 10 pages long! I have two WM cards. I called for the first card which was just increased last month to $1500 and asked for $5000. Went through the routine, answered the questions and put on hold, but came back with a no go.

(cue crickets chirping) :sorry:

Hung up and called for the second card which is at $1100 and due for CLI next month. Told the CSR that I wanted to go for $5000 and try to convert to Discover. Did the normal routine, put me on hold, came back and asked security questions, put me on hold again, and then came back with a yes. He then transferred me to someone else regarding the conversion but she told me it's not a customer initiated request...I suppose that means, don't call us, we'll call you. She said I would have to go into the store and apply for the Discover.

I don't know that I'll actually do that, but I will take that increase!! Very cool guys! Thanks!!! :good:

OK. What should I tell them when they ask why I want a 10,000 limit on my amazon card? lol no but seriously it's at $2500 now and I want to bump it up before the holidays, I don't really need a 10,000 limit at Amazon but why not try. Do they counter offer?

You don't have to tell them anything really.

I am always completely honest.

"I am a credit nerd. I am constantly seeking higher limits on all my trade lines to improve my overall utilization and increase my FICO. I have no interest in actually using the credit that you grant me today".

Works like a charm, and is true :)

well..........Approved $7500. She asked me less questions than the automated system does. Total call time was 3 min and 14 secs. All I can say is holy chocolate! Good work here folks! Thanks
