I wonder why TJ's hasn't done a co-brand. It also doesn't do delivery which I've found is odd but I suppose it allows it to keep prices more opaque.

I assume TJ is happy with Instacart filling that service.

I swear our cats instinctively scramble and hide every time an Instacart delivery is dropped on our doorstep ... it's only a matter of minutes subsequent that Bev lets loose a blue streak over unwanted/illogical "substitutions" to her order.  Or, if not that, it's warranted by some item that ends up looking like it had a 5 lb sack of flour dropped on it.  (like the raspberries that were "bleeding" all over the bag ...)

Since she's now toiling away telecommuting, and my time is my own, you'd think I'd help out with the groceries.  But my track record was only slightly better than Instacart (at least without resorting to 4-6 calls to clarify her wants ;) ).   I found the best contribution I could make is "go-for" in the store.

McDonalds McMasterCard. ;)

I think it was in the late 1990's that McDonald's was actually considering a store card.  It never got anywhere, but if one did get issued, I would be first in line to apply.  They ended up issuing gift cards (Arch Cards that replaced McDonald's gift certificates), like every other joint on the planet does now.  😕  Widespread acceptance of credit cards at fast food restaurant chains didn't really happen until about 2002 - 2004.  When I worked at Taco Bell, it was all cash.  Once in a while, we would allow a customer to write a check if they looked trustworthy.  It's not like the food is expensive to prepare.  I remember there was an elementary school down the street that had taco day.  Guess who made the tacos?  We made about 300 - 400 of them in the morning for the school to pick up.  It was a pain in the neck.  I dreaded taco day.  They paid by check.  As far as I know, they never bounced.  They never stopped payment on the checks, even if the kids threw-up after eating their tacos.

Back in the day when McDonald's tested accepting CC at some locations, they found on average that people spent somewhere around 10 to 30% more when paying by debit or CC

TJ's doesn't do Instacart here, I thought all of TJ's didn't do third-party delivery services but I may have just made that up in my head.

My bad.  No TJ delivery here as well.  (Juxtaposing them with Publix/Kroger/Whole Foods/Instacart/Prime Delivery in my mind ... it's a free-associatin' mess up there these days!)

Not really sure why that is but in a non-covid world if they did do delivery, I really would never leave the house. I only leave for Joe.

As a grocery store worker, none of this surprises me.  Between some of my coworkers and some of the Instacart shoppers, it wouldn't surprise me at all if a 5LB sack of flour had been dropped on those raspberries at some point.

I want a CreditBoards Visa Infinite with an encrusted diamond and gold plating.

I've seen a credit card similar to the one you alluded to with diamond accents, it's a Mastercard, though.

A Mastercard simply will not due. I’m not gonna sit here and flex a world elite Mastercard when the plebeians over at Capital One can get one with a $1k credit limit.

Capital One is the best card to carry if you can obtain a high credit line like a $20K card If they rescind the CLD policy.

They seem not to have a CLD policy towards cards that are under the $10K limit.
