OK who wants to me take under their wings ... I can run some errands for you :D

The best way to start off is reading the master thread, learning how to count and post inquiries properly then help people count their inquiries.

Done. Oh man I am itching to get some practice.

For anyone else reading this, here is some Cliff Notes to save you a lot of time. Note that information has been taken from earlier posts but are so spread out that it became hard to track and thank all individual posters(most are BIs :). Most all of it can be found if you read the relevant threads. Credit is due to the original posters who posted these valuable information.

  • FIFO Rule Applies to both hard and soft INQs on both TU and EQ

TransUnion

  • Number of Magic INQs = 55-56 ((Hard and Soft both count!)
  • creditmonitor2010's B* reference guide with helpful hints on TU B* sources. Free trials may fastrack B*
  • Just Count "Permissible Purpose" entries. These are the only softs that count. An example of what doesn't count is when you request your free copy through annualcreditreport. It will show up as FACTACT FREE DISCLOSRE and will not have Permissible Purpose at the bottom of this entry, so it doesn't count.
  • Softs from the same source with same dates displayed multiple times are dupes and should be consolidated as only one soft.

Equifax

  • Number of Magic INQs = 85(Hard and Soft both count!). Guide to achieving it is fusioncredit's HOF thread Achieve B* with EQ in 28 days or less. Free trials may help fastrack B*
  • spigot's excellent [updated] Automatic counting of inquiries for B* will do the job for you when you copy paste from EC properly formatted. Please follow the format as mentioned in the sticky.
  • Softs from the same source with same dates displayed multiple times are dupes and should be consolidated as only one soft.
  • Current and historic chop dates are maintained by Bob in the Master List of Triple Bureau Pullers with Free Trials thread. Most recent version is here but check the thread for future updates.
  • Abusing EQ backdoor will help fastrack C*. These show up as "EQUIFAX" followed by dates, count as softs(if #EQUIFAX softs+other legit softs <= 85) and have led to C*^2 in a few cases and bans. DO NOT ABUSE. Also show up as just "EQUIFAX" when checked for genuine disputes. DO NOT ABUSE.
  • Mapping of daily pullers and what they show up in the softs. These always count unless the dupe date rule from above applies (very rare)
    CreditSecure/Amex	CIC/EXPERIAN RPTS
    USAA CREDITEXPERT
EC Equifax Consumer Services/EQUIFAX CONSUMER SERVICES (Not Case Sensitive)
    EIDT/MPM TRUECREDIT/VERTRUE

  • EQUIFAX INFO SVCS and EQUIFAX INFORMATION SV do NOT count.
  • Prefixes PRM, AM or AR, EMPL, PR, Equifax or EFX, ND, ND MR do NOT count. Look in the notes following the soft inquiries in the section "Inquiries that do not impact your credit rating" for detailed descriptions on these. There is one more prefix called DTC and it doesn't count either & in general prefixed entries are the ones that do not get counted. These prefixes have a trailing dash "-" followed by the creditor name. Example none of these count
    PRM-AT&T WIRELESS 10/26/11:
    DTC-AT&T SERVICES, INC. 02/25/12:
    AR-CAPITAL ONE 10/04/11:
    AM-CAPITAL ONE AUTO FINANCE 05/03/11:
    ND-CAPITAL ONE - RTPM 02/10/12:

Please feel free to correct these in case of any errors :)

EQ looks good except that counting is more complicated than just using the automatic counter. It's not 100% accurate.

For TU, last time around when I worked with muss on the new magic number, softs from the same source with the same date (i.e. CK) did count.

Yes, BUT...

All those CK inqs eventually get consolidated to 1/month. Usually. For the favored few (like me) that consolidation happens nightly. :(

So you may get 4 good softs when you update CK, but then at midnight *POOF* they're gone.

More importantly, multiple pulls from the same source in one day are dangerous. They are likely to get your puller shut down. :o Not just for you, for everyone.

Mine weren't being consolidated. I would always show 5 CK softs, 4 dated on the last pull and 1 dated the previous pull. Those were all being updated every day (i.e. the next pull, I would show 4 from that new date, and 1 from the previous).

However, just last night I did get some of this consolidation...I may have attracted some attention by using FCs. :(

Yeah, mine weren't getting consolidated regularly until I started b*umping in earnest. Now they do it every night.

OTOH, it's not always a bad thing... I've noticed TU sometimes consolidates multiple hards from the same source too (I mean inqs for CCs, not just mortgages or auto loans).

Awesome! Love it. I think it would be helpful to add other softs that we know count and that we know do not count. General question for all BIs. Was a ruling on Andera ever made? It definitely did not count for me. As did First Advantage Credco. Others that count are Intersections, TrueCredit/24 Protect, TrueCredit/Chase, TrueCredit/FreeScore, and TrueCredit/TUS.

Just noticed I typed wrong. Credco did count for me.

With so many BI these days, it's cool to not be BI.

…but if you want to make money it is better to be a member of a group/s that do not advertise!

You should see the BI parties we throw. Playboy Mansion. Models. Bottles. 24/7 365.

We make it rain.
