BobWang
I can't remember the big parts of the '04 and '08 versions of FICO, but is there a different reason other than the more inquiries that might be creating such a rift in my DCU FICO (EQ, '04) and my Walmart FICO (TU, '08) that could be based on the scoring models? I don't have any negative accounts, all reports essentially show the same info, so consider all things equal except the inquires and scoring models. BIG difference is that FICO 08 ignores AU accounts, and is more forgiving of TINY baddies.

In 2002 or so, I got the bright idea to close all my credit cards that I didn't use very much. Life should be simple, right?

I'd hate to think it's all the inquiries that are giving a 46 point difference, but I guess that's what it is.

I wonder why my '08 FICO is so much lower than both '04 and '98 FICOs (At least 45 pts difference)...maybe it's less tolerant of a PR? BobWang
Sounds like FICO 08 dings more for high utilization http://www.creditcrm.com/blog/credit-news/fico-08-ins-outs/
Repairerer
Sounds like FICO 08 dings more for high utilization http://www.creditcrm.com/blog/credit-news/fico-08-ins-outs/ That would make sense as well. I gained 5 points last month, and I think my reported utilization went from 2% to 1% or something like that.

patz2009
Sounds like FICO 08 dings more for high utilization http://www.creditcrm...co-08-ins-outs/ I usually have <1% show for utilization, but this month I wanted to experiment and see what happened in that regard. I let about 5% utilization report, and got no change in my Walmart FICO. Credit Karma also hasn't moved for almost 2 months.
BobWang
PenFed finally credits the $251 payment from ES2's Checking to Visa. Took 11 days.

BobWang
That was from his Penfed checking? Push or pull? PenFed Checking to PenFed Visa transfer. I think that would be a push, since immediately deducted from Checking. Takes 2 days to show up in Visa transactions. The 1st $447 took 10 days, the 2nd payment of $251 took 11 days to be reflected in "Available Credit"
BobWang
ES2's Available Credit is up to $965 out of the $1,000 PenFed Rewards Visa Credit Limit. Took 9 days for PenFed Checking to PenFed Visa to be fully credited.

BobWang
PenFed's "Available Credit" is quirky. 12 days after transfer from checking to Visa, "Available Credit" finally reflects $0.00 balance, and full $1,000 available for ES2

BobWang
PenFed is really weird. It's either PenFed or USAA that posts peoples' paychecks a day earlier.

Not sure about PenFed, but USAA definitely does it. My paycheck is always available on Thursday vs. Friday.
