My latest victim experiment:

22 y/o college student

Previous credit influence has been a mentor who preached that credit cards are evil.

No revolving credit history when I came along.

Only credit history is $4k student loan taken out June, 2011, deferred status.

Signed up for Credit Karma, Credit Sesame at 6 months of credit history:

CK: 2012-01-03 TransRisk 653, Auto 773, VantageScore 588 (F)

CS: 2012-01-03 Experian National Equivalency Score (NES) 669

Added to 13 y/o AmEx.

Reported today, bumps AAOA from 0.5 to 6.5 years:

CK: 2012-01-27 TransRisk 653, Auto 818, VantageScore 588 (F)

myFICO TU98: 2012-01-27 TransUnion 747

Obviously, TransRisk and VantageScore do not factor in AU accounts.

Cannot pull Equifax FICO score, unable to verify SSN, identity.

Will add to one of my utility bills, get new driver's license with my address, try again next month.

Navy Federal today:

Me: She's applying for the unsecured cashRewards Visa, it's her first solo credit card, so if she's not approved for that, we'll go secured.

LO: She's approved for $500.00 unsecured, even though she's an AU on a $5k AmEx, I presume that's you, we still consider her a First Time Borrower.

Us: High Fives

Walmart today:

Me: Where do we go to apply for a credit card?

Her: I'll take you back there.

Her: Hmm, nobody's at the desk, I'll do it myself.

Her: I'll need a driver's license and a credit card

(What do people do if this is their FIRST CC application?)

Her: You've been approved for the Walmart store credit card.

Me: What's her CL?

Her: $1,200.

My Wally Discover is only $1,300 :(

Actually, next is to get her into DCU.

My local electric company added her as authorized agent, but not to the actual bill.

So, have to wait another cycle for proof of residency.

Unfortunately PSECU doesn't count co-habitation as eligibility.
