[Updated] Automatic counting of inquiries for B*

Recommended Posts

Since the old counter was down, I decided to put a little something together.

EQ counter: http://bit.ly/wEzfGH

TU counter: Coming soon!

This is considered early beta for now. I didn't have access to the source of the old counter, so there will most likely be some bugs. If you encounter any errors or have any feature suggestions, feel free to post in this thread and I'll see what I can do! Just like the old counter, just copy/paste from EQ's site and it will do the rest of the work for you. Before submitting a bug report, please make sure the INQs you're pasting are in this format (notice the tab between the name/dates). Hope everyone finds it useful! :)

Thanks, this should be fixed. So many random prefixes EQ doesn't disclose!

DTC-Navy didn't get counted for me, assuming you must have already fixed that prefix.

I did a direct cut and paste from EQ complete, on a mac running firefox 9, didn't have to reformat or clean it up.

Looks great, i like the button to show uncounted softs, gives you a better idea of what is and is not counted.

I'm sure you are already thinking about adding C* detection based on the most recent hard.

Any truth to unprefixed Equifax Svcs (and variations) being counted for B* ?

I find that it's not counting the softs from "Equifax". These have always counted as softs for me.

Still working with Bob on that one.. see this post for more details on that. I suppose I could make a "Count Equifax" checkbox. Still a little confused on when Equifax softs apply.

Equifax and Equifax Consumer Services counts, but Equifax Info Svcs does not. And of course any Eq with a pre-fix doesn't count either.

We haven't figured out yet what makes "EQUIFAX" count for some people and not for others.

Used to be, nobody reported them as counting.

Now, more people seem to be reporting them as counting.

I think jds just started counting them for everyone, leading to some counts > 85.

Made it count "EQUIFAX" and "Equifax Consumer Services" for now. Thinking of adding a checkbox so people can decided whether they'd like these to be counted or not.

The "Count Equifax" checkbox is a great idea although it might confuse people even more...

FWIW, the bare Equifax softs (no prefix or suffix) do count for me.

Let's make the Executive Decision to count "EQUIFAX" for now.

If we start getting howls about over-counting, the button option can be added.

I agree with keeping the counter as simple as possible. :P

Works for me. :) Code's in place for the checkbox, so I can always 'flip the switch' if necessary.

One thing that might be worth mentioning, although it may not matter or you may have already considered it.

I only tested pasting from EC. On the EQ backdoor, the EC inqs were in all caps, not mixed case like they are when viewed on EC.

Okay, sorry was at work and forgot to respond with my findings. This section has never helped with *Bing:

On EQ report it is listed as:

EQUIFAX 11/16/11, 11/08/11, 10/25/11, 10/25/11, 10/22/11, 10/22/11, 10/22/11, 10/18/11, 10/15/11, 06/21/11, 06/15/11, 06/14/11, 06/14/11, 06/10/11, 06/07/11, 06/06/11, 06/05/11, 05/31/11, 05/31/11, 05/30/11, 05/30/11, 05/29/11, 05/27/11, 05/27/11, 05/26/11, 05/24/11, 05/23/11, 05/17/11, 05/13/11, 05/13/11, 05/12/11, 05/12/11, 05/11/11, 05/11/11, 05/10/11, 05/09/11, 05/09/11, 05/07/11, 05/06/11, 05/04/11

On your program it shows up as:

EQUIFAX: 11/16/11, 11/08/11, 10/25/11, 10/25/11, 10/22/11, 10/22/11, 10/22/11, 10/18/11, 10/15/11, 06/21/11, 06/15/11, 06/14/11, 06/14/11, 06/10/11, 06/07/11, 06/06/11, 06/05/11, 05/31/11, 05/31/11, 05/30/11, 05/30/11, 05/29/11, 05/27/11, 05/27/11, 05/26/11, 05/24/11, 05/23/11, 05/17/11, 05/13/11, 05/13/11, 05/12/11, 05/12/11, 05/11/11, 05/11/11, 05/10/11, 05/09/11, 05/09/11, 05/07/11, 05/06/11, 05/04/11 (40)

And the one that has counted toward *B on the EQ report is:

Equifax Consumer Services 01/16/12, 01/15/12, 01/13/12, 01/12/12, 01/11/12, 01/10/12, 12/30/11

On your program it is:

Equifax Consumer Services: 01/16/12, 01/15/12, 01/13/12, 01/12/12, 01/11/12, 01/10/12, 12/30/11 (7)

I know for a fact that the first one ( name EQUIFAX) does not work because I was recently chopped and it wiped all of my softs away as of 01/09/2012 and there is no way that I could have 70 softs lefted over. When I minus the "EQUIFAX" section it leaves me with around 30ish and that sound more within reason. I would post the entire report to make it more clearer, but when I copy and paste from EQ report it doesn't maintain that formatting. If you want I can email your counting results and also the actual EQ softs report.... Thanks for your assistance in advance.

Please see earlier in this thread. For some people "EQUIFAX" counts, apparently, and for others it doesn't. We're thinking of adding a "Count Equifax" checkbox, but are keeping it as simple as possible for now. If you know "EQUIFAX" doesn't count for you, just subtract it for now. Still trying to figure out why it counts for some and not others.
