Ok- had 10 alleged medical accounts I have no recollection of. All were showing on ALL 3 credit reports. I opted out (like a year ago LOL) and sent out pre-hippa letters.

Experian AND Transunion deleted EVERY SINGLE ONE. All 10- gone. *poof*

However, Equifax "validated" EVERY SINGLE ONE. (go figure- trying to get a mortgage and thats the report the LO pulls ARG).

Maybe I missed something- but is there something specific I should be doing if 2 of the 3 reporting agencies deleted ALL of them and one for whatever reason wont? I don't remember the accounts- so I don't really want to just pay them with the inserts etc to get them off one report.....

Also- one more question on HIPAA process- it says to make sure the CRA validates and shows a clear relationship between you and the collection agency- what constitues as "clear relationship"? All I ever received back from Equifax was a letter listing the 10 accounts and simpyl stating "VERIFIED" next to the name of the collection agency and partial account number. To me, that doesn't show a clear relationship between us. Am I wrong? Do I need to be doing something different?

Sorry, I really hate to take your time and ask- my brain is fried from doing this stuff for the past year and there's so much going on in life I'm having a hard time understanding what I need to be doing now with the results I got.

did you ever DV the CA?

maybe these are not your accounts -

ask for the provider name and address, date of service, and the SS # associated with the accounts.

I wish you would have kept all your posts in one thread. I don't have time to check to see what you have done before, however, assuming you opted out and deleted old addresses and sent the initial dispute letter to all 3 CRAs and have only Eq. to desal with then the next step is to send the reporting CAs the medicasl DV

http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html

and then send Eq the follow up dispute:

http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html#DISPUTE

I suggest you double check through the Eq "back door" firsdt. Sometimes thry send out a letter saying "remains" when thry have, in fact, deleted.

No I never sent a DV to the CA. I was following whychat's HIPAA process and opted out and did that stuff- cleaned up personal history and names/addresses on credit reports- and then sent the Pre-HIPAA letters- and that's as far as I have gotten so far.

Sorry it's been so long- didn't think to add on to other threads. I did everything to a T so far as per your process. Opted out- got all addresses and name mispellings etc OFF. Only thing showing is my Correct Name and my current address and that's it. No employers, no wrong addresses, no old addresses nothing. I sent the pre-hipaa letter to all three credit agencies- just as described in your instructions. 2 of them deleted all 10 collections (transunion and experian) but equifax came back saying they were all valid. I do the backdoor method about once a week- and they still appear on it. The letters are now 30+ days old- so I would assume if they were going to come off, it would have happened already.

thank you, thank you, thank you. Does the letter that goes to the CRA need to still be on yellow paper/purple ink? I am going to assume so- I'm also assuming the letter I send to the CA can just be typed and printed...

Update: got them all sent out today. Woohoo. The post office sure loves me with all of these certified letters =) One question though- There is a letter to send to the CRA's when/if I don't hear back from the letters sent to the CA's... Whychat- your post above lead to me think you were saying to just send them both at the same time? Do I need to wait the full 30 days to hear back from the CA's before sending the CRA's- or should I just get the ones sent to the CRA's tomorrow?

ONLY the INITIAL dispute letter is done in "funny font" ALL other correspondence to anyone, including the CRAs is properly typed and "courtroom ready".

The follow up dispute to the CRAs ( after the medical DV is sent to the CAs) is sent as soon as you have proof of receipt of the medical DV by the CA.

Ok thank you so much. I received proof of receipt on the Medical CA's Friday- so I will get the letters ready and mail them out to the CRA's tomorrow.
