ALL 3 CRAs have to be freeze-free in order to sign up for the first time.

AFTER signing up:

Equifax-based services like Equifax Complete can pull through an Equifax freeze.
Experian-based services like USAA-CCMP & C$ can still pull through ALL freezes.
TransUnion-based services like MPM & NCIDP will pull frozen TU & Equifax, but will fail on frozen Experian.

Quizzle, another Experian service, also fails to do follow-up pulls through a freeze.

Also, once Quizzle thinks your EX is frozen, even if you unfreeze, it won't try until you call and (after sitting on hold forever) have them manually flip a switch that will clear your frozen flag.

Quizzle is a bad joke of a cartoon, but now that my Experian file is temporarily unfrozen I'd like to get it to update. I just sent an email to customer service to see if they'll clear the "frozen" flag. Of course, I didn't word it quite like that...

Credit Sesame is unlike CCT, C$ and USAA-CCMP in that CS can't pull through an Experian freeze after signing up successfully.

I recently unfroze Experian, and Credit Sesame seems to be getting updated tradeline data, but it hasn't refreshed my score or other values, like my estimated home value. Odd.

I read the entire thread but I really only have one agenda with the monitoring services so, for clarification, does EQ/TU still do their thing with the associated pullers when frozen after signup, such as:

TUP and SCP still pulls TU, if TU frozen after signup?

CK still pull TU, if frozen?

CCMP, MPM, C$ still pulls EQ, if EQ frozen after signup?

Quizzle still pull EQ, if frozen? (I see that one did not work when it was EX, any update now that it's EQ?)

Same results as above if all 3 are frozen after signup? (i.e. MPM will still pull the frozen EQ even with EX frozen, just won't be able to pull EX? CCMP is a YMMV whether it will pull EQ if EX frozen?)

Froze EX

Signed up for USAA

USAA Fails to update

Unfroze EX

USAA updates fine.

Wait 1 month

Freeze EX

USAA FAILS again.

Did this on 2 different reports, Mine and wifes - same result

Today I am still unable to pull through the EX freeze via USAA

USAA CCMP Supervisor confirmed that the issue is occurring to several customers and that the issue was escalated to engineers who are actively working to resolve in cooperation with EX.

Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

UPDATE:

Engineers have concluded that the states of Kentucky and Louisiana are interfering with the ability of USAA-CCMP customers to pull credit reports through an Experian freeze.

I happen to live in Kentucky.

I re-asked the question to verify that I heard correctly, in that their claim was the states themselves were the cause - which they confirmed. This makes no sense to me. Why would only 2 states have any interest in blocking a credit report from being pulled through a freeze? This sounds more like a stalling tactic, and the engineers simply have no clue, and since the only reported incidents are coming from KY and LA, then deductive reasoning in their camps resulted in "ITS THE STATES FAULT", in order to appease the customers and stop people like me from bothering them on a daily basis and asking for the supervisors.

If there is anyone else out their from KY or LA using the daily pulls from USAA-CCMP - please respond so we can get some more data points. Thank you all.

Dangit!! I wish I would have seen this 12 hours ago. Froze EX yesterday. Been pulling USAA-CCMP for months. Today can't pull USAA. Guess what?!?!?

I live in La!! Ugh!!

I guess I will cancel the services until I am ready to do some serious EQ B*. Another reason I wish I lived in TX!!

Sorry to hear that EMTMedic44, but at least you have the information now and do not have to fight with them for weeks/months trying to figure it out. Good luck to you.

TRUE DAT!! I called USAA credit monitoring services and explained the issue and said that unless the issue could be resolved I would need to cancel my services. The customer service rep, while very sweet, was unaware of the issue with KY and La members. After placing me on hold he explained that he felt the issue was with EX and he could transfer me to EX customer service. I then threw my hands in the air and just asked him to cancel the membership and refund my money for this month. He was very accomodating and the deal is done. I will miss USAA, but I will be back soon when I'm ready to tackle some serious EQ B*.
