The Master Credit Cards that Report Mid-Cycle Midcycle or Before Statements Close Thread

Recommended Posts

My HSBC statement hasn't closed yet, but HSBC updated Experian to reflect current balance today.

Equifax & TransUnion still show last month's statement balance.

I know they've already been mentioned, but just want to add a data point... my UMB statement closes on the 3rd, and they've been reporting on the 2nd.

On my monitoring report Household bank hasn't updated for me

since I paid AF in Aug.,Sept last update. I will be closing it

this year in June or July. Also I closed another Household card

last Oct. and it is not reporting closed yet on monitoring report,

last update in March '11. Will see how they report when I pull real

report.

I’ve noticed that, as statements close, Citi reports to Experian 1 day after, Equifax 2 days, and TransUnion 3 days.

Maybe people can help out by reporting their experiences in the following format:

Citi (Eq 2, Ex 1, TU 3)

TIA,

Bob

Interesting data here. At one point, I keep those CRA reporting dates for each account. Sometimes when I called in to get such data, reps are clueless or would have me wait long on the phone to find out.. Of course I learned that Crap1 DOES report biz card balances to EX the hard way. Nowadays, I'm avoiding dealing with that fool completely after cashing out a good chunk of travel rewards.

Using AND allowing only 2-3 cards reporting balances while avoiding finance charges help minimize tracking headaches for me. It's easier to schedule payments/statement payoffs, too. YMMV, though!

Don't know if it's helpful, but got my TU report yesterday and my formerly HSBC, now Capital One Union Plus card closes on the 14th, but reported on the 13th.

And my UMB card, which closes on the 3rd but had started reporting on the 2nd, is now reporting on the 3rd again.

Several of my cards have gone from regularly reporting the day after statement close to reporting the day OF statement close.

I'm pretty sure that all of my GEMB-cards report right after statement closing, but I'll double check.

I notice Discover is also on this mid-cycle list, but my Discover reports right after statement closing.

These are based on past reports, GECRB & Discover may have changed.

I'm going to put parentheses around those two.

I'm really not sure about Discover, as I've only had that for a few months now. That's how they've reported for me, but I'd love to hear what others experiences are..

But for at least the last 2.5 years or so IME, all of my GEMB-accounts have always reported right after statement closing.

Well, I did not get any responses but I now have the answers to my inquiries. Chase balance transfer timeline is approx. 3-5 business days to accept and process. Because it was Vetern's Day and a weekend, it took 7 days to process. Posting for Target and Kohl's was 24 hours( after midnight) to show on my accounts. Target was faster than Kohl's. Just wanted to update.

Thanks
