Citibank holds a couple of my COs on my report.

DV'd to them, no response. Disputed via CRAs, came back verified. Sent in 623s with specifically what was wrong on their reporting, no response.

I've just sent in another round of disputes to the CRAs, waiting to see if they come back verified again. Address associated with these TLs has been removed previously.

Suggested next step?

IF you disputed with CRA first and came back, Verified and then 623 the OC asksing for them to investigate your dispute, and OC failed to respond OC is in direct violation of FCRA § 623 (a)(8), you are just merely asking for the OC's proof that they must have provided to the credit bureaus during the OC's thorough investigation. If they have no proof of negative information, but the credit bureau says that the results of the investigation show the negative information is accurate, then you have the OC on an actionable offense.

You need to send a letter to the Creditors legal department informing them they are in violation of the FCRA and you intend to sue if they do not remove the listing.

If they do not remove the listing, you will have to sue if you want to get it off.

Alright, let me see if I can find Citi's legal department. I'm tempted to send the letter to the same address as on my credit report, though, on the basis that it's not my responsibility to have Citi's correct contact info on the credit reports.

Any update, I myself had the same issue and sent an ITS. Only difference in my case... is that "one department" of CIti told me it was reported correctly and then forwarded it to "another department to fulfill the rest of my request" The other department claimed to not have enough information to identify my account. It was clear bs to delay so I called em on it. Does anyone else have any input in this situation, supportive or otherwise.

Bump,

I am in the process of this right now. I had 180 day lates at BAC 5 years ago that never charged off. Paid off account in full under payment plan. BAC has deleted all records of my card. Equifax and Experian still list derogatory items.
