PS: I miss BW too. I miss a lot of the older contributors.

AMEN! :good:

At one time CB HAD and incredible stable of awesome contributors and was a lot less contentious....

The primary problem with CB is our success. Once critical knowledge has been obtained, credit repaired and major limits obtained, people move on and fail to contribute back to the CB community. This is not always the case, however it occurs much too often.

It just gets boring after a while.

The advanced forum was supposed to help stop the brain drain, but the fact that you have to have a CB account and be logged in to even know it exists means that no new brains or blood meander into there, so it's effectively just the same heads or noobs which leads me back to the boring statement.

As for the contention, when I look back at older CB threads I see plenty of conflicting personalities.

So I have to ask, what happened to BW and where has Trevor been?

Some of us just witness the recurring patterns & wait it out. The board just does that sometimes, but the mods always seem to be able/capable of shutting it down when it gets too bad.

I post only when I see need, desire to achieve & know that my experience/advice differs with other responses they're receiving. I have found some ppl that I greatly respect on CB.

I see Trevor once in a blue moon, but it's been a while. Not sure about BW. IIRC, Mendel was in contact with him at some point.

Oh yeah, CB has occasional bursts of this. It is just part of it. The mods are pretty tough, but only when they need to be.

I will tend to agree that it can get boring at times. Starting reading CB back in 2004 while posting over at AOC, then finally joined CB in 2006 and then AOC had a massive RAID CRASH and was gone forever.

Over the years I have gone on hiatus many times....and always seemed to miss something. Back in 2010 I missed the USA Federal/Navy FCU merger and the opportunity to join Navy this way. Thankfully I was able to join Navy last year thanks to a certain poster here at CB!

My main point in regards to boring, everything in the credit universe is so much more dynamic today and moving faster. Informed consumers of credit need to remain engaged to a certain degree with CB. IIRC FICO 9 is now out in the wild, I would certainly hope to get some data points on this new FICO scoring model here at CB and if I get some, I will contribute. So at this point, things never seem to get too boring anymore.

Just one last post and then I really am gone. This is in regards to the argument I got into with Mendel a couple days ago, and my inspiration to leave the board.

I was approved today for the Chase Ink Preferred card.

1) I was at 5/24 at the time of application, and was approved with this being card #6. Point: You can get approved for a 6th chase chard at 5/24.

2) Two of my cards in the last 5/24 were store cards (I was at 6/24 including these). The underwriters were happy to ignore both cards once realizing they couldn't be spent outside of the stores. This was point #2.

So Mendel... you were wrong, and wrong.

Also, helpful as you are, your attitude it garbage and a negative drag on this board. I hope someday you go away!

Kayve signing off. Goodnight and goodluck.

Bye!

As I said before, people can overcome 5/24 but your understanding of it is incorrect and contradicts everything published around the internet.

Maybe someday you will actually come back and help people here instead of just being a taker. It's ironic that someone mentioned that people pick up and leave without helping others in this thread, because that's exactly what you did. Take, take, take...

Edit: this is actually your third final post (you edited the first). I know you're just trying to put negative attention towards me. How about putting that energy towards actually helping 1-2 people for a change.

I've decided to come back to CB...

But can anyone tell me how to block Mendel so I never see his posts or any of his negative h o r s e sh!t?

A real life friend is repairing his credit and I want to be here for his ride.

I really never though my FICO would get this high this fast. I figured my AAOA would have to be at least 10 years (currently just above 7). 4 points from credit nerd enlightenment. BOFA just posted my new TU Fico and I was thrilled.

Closed my Chase United card and my Chase Ink Business Preferred card.

Opened the new Chase Marriott Personal card with 100k signup bonus and once I hit 5k spending will open the business one as well.

Actually pretty cool cards to keep as the annual fee is less than $100 which earns you one free night per year ... but the free night gets you a stay at a hotel that can be as much as $450+

Not sure that's clear yet. Are the new points values set for more than a few dozen properties? Just looking at the 2019 point range, it seems the annual certs will cover up to ~the middle tier.
