BobWang,

Do you have any savings in the Amex bank by any chance? I wonder if that would help preclude this nonsense.

OTOH, we might not enjoy this entertaining little adventure.

Amex FRs are really one of the bigger drawbacks one has to put up with. Amex, don't leave home without a backup card.

Back in 2009, I transferred $250k there, just to see if it worked.

It did, and I transferred the whole $250k out again a week later, after the 6-day hold was released. :D

I don't think AmEx likes being teased like that. :P

Our hearts go out the victims and families affected by this devastating natural disaster.

Day 4, still suspended.

Doesn't it take them at least two weeks to receive the 4506T forms in the mail?

I'm quite sure that AmEx receives the tax returns electronically from the IRS.

The biggest delay is probably the IRS processing the request.

Cashing in all your points? They certainly will have you up and running soon with your customer history. Thank you for the information about the electronic transfer from the IRS. When we went through the mortgage process, the bank received our 4506T's through snail mail; so I never realized they could do it electronically.

Oops, AmEx called to tell me I forgot to put down NAME and address on line 3.

I am only given TWO chances to get the 4506-T correct.

If I mess up this time, all my cards will be cancelled.

I may just cancel all of them any way.

Think happy thoughts and remember it's just business.

Yes, it's just business...

and less of mine. :P

How high up the chain have you worked? If I gave them that kind of business and they suspended my cards for 4 days (really at all, but especially for days on end), I'd be working my way up the chain until I got some answers.

I understand that you're not using them much at the moment, but that's not really the point.

I'm not going to escalate this.

If they cancel my cards because I can't fill out a 4506-T correctly, so be it.

I can't trust my AmExes any more. :(
