If you KNEW you'd be approved, and could apply for ONE card, what would it be?

AARP 5% cash back card (well... first 6 months you get 5% on everything) then it drops to 1%. There is a thread about it here somewhere. You don't have to be old to join AARP. You could be 18 years old. There is a thread about it on FatWallet too.

Since this is a hypothetical, I was wondering if in the OPs scenario one's AAOA would be protected with the addition of this card that I am guaranteed to be approved for.

If so then I would app for the Costco True Rewards Amex.

I've always had a thing for the Merrill Lynch Credit Card Plus: MERRILL+

but I'll never get one under FIA

Total Merrill Cash Back Visa Signature is going to be my next... after I put EX on ice, garden some, and finish B* on my EQ.

When reading a similar poll, many indicated the American Express Blue card offered the most rewards. It seems even in here the preponderance of people are indicating American Express cards, which aren't easy to achieve.
