Mr Wang,

I am in need of your expertise.

Authorized user on my Mothers card since 2011.

Her card and my card says member since 2000.

My online account and my subsequent personal cards say 2011.

Opened all three this year.

I have tried calling and always get the response ( cannot change your date to 2000) response.

On my reports my authorized user shows up as opened in 2000 all the others report as 2011.

Is there a way to get backdated?

Thank you.

No expertise here.

You just have to keep calling and calling till you get the right CSR who will do it for you.

It took one of my AUs over 30 calls.

Call during the week, during regular hours, since I don't think India has authority to do D*

i think it helps to have the primary account holder call either card replacement (1-800-962-7227) or the am3x credit reporting dept (http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=452711). be prepared to escalate to supervisor almost immediately. at the first no, just ask for a supervisor. the first line CSRs won't be able to D* for you.

Mr Wang,

If they tell you new cards on the way, should be good to go?

They usually don't issue new cards with the same "Member Since" year.

So, if your own Primary Cards are being re-issued, "YOU'VE GOT D*" :D

Mr Wang

I don't know whether you are a Man or a Woman , Frankly I don't care, I feel like giving you a huge HUG.

You should have your own tv show.

Wether it happens or not you inspire me.

All the good Karma in the world to you.

Hi. I have been an Amex member since 2012.....AFAIK.

On my account homepage, under my name in the upper right area, it says "Thank you for being a cardmember since 1993". I think this suddenly changed when I regsitered my Gold Biz Card the other day. I had never noticed it before. Thing is, my Gold Biz Card says member since 2012.

Now, I just got my new SPG Biz Amex in the mail today. It says cardmember since 1993!!! Just like the website! Wow.Something obviously happened here. I was just on the phone with the rep about this card (unrelated matter) when I suddenly noticed it and began to fumble my words and hesitate. I was about to ask her about it and decided to not say anything.

Anyone ever had this happen before? I'm quite confused here. I'd LOVE to be backdated to 1993 but don't remember having a card back then. I would love to call and ask to have my other two Amex's remailed with the backdating to 1993 but I don't know if that would work or if it would raise red flags and get corrected.....mainly because I don't know how clear, concise and organized backdating is. I mean, do the reps just see my 1993 backdating and go off that without verifying it?

My ultimate goal would be, if I can really keep the 1993 date, to get a personal card...which I still don't have...and give my AAOA a serious jolt in age.

Just call Card Replacement and tell them that your login and SPG say 1993,

and you would like your other cards re-issued with 1993 also.

Before you call...

tranquilizers or a few shots.

Is it really that simple?? I was afraid there would be potential problems. I have read that the backdating date on the website is the one that counts. Like I said, my other two Amex's are dated 2012. I just applied for the Gold and SPG on Friday....Gold during the late afternoon and SPG Biz around 11:30. I did it before midnight to see if I would only get one inquiry for both....AND I DID! I was delighted. However, it was only after I was on my account page yesterday while linking the Gold Biz that I noticed I noticed the 1993 date instead of 2012. I really don't know how or when this happened exactly but it had to have been around the time of my 2 apps on Friday,

Anyway, the Gold arrived yesterday with 2012 and the SPG arrived today with 1993. Somewhere between or during the apps, something happened. I wonder if this is related to my lack of two inquiries or if that is simply the result of applying for two biz cards on the same day. I just assumed it was this.

Anyway, should I assume that any personal card approvals from Amex will result in this new 1993 backdating??

Bob is kind of aggressive. I would bite my tongue, wait and hope I get to keep the 1993 dates. After a few months, call and ask for a replacement card - misplaced, damaged, whatever - don't say stolen. Just do one card - see what date is on the replacement card.

Tricky Mom. ;)
