If the friend option doesn't work, have an assistant position open? lol

I'm going to call, the AmEx CSRs usually don't get THAT personal over the phone. :D

Hmm, AmEx may be implementing some kind of relationship screening for D* now. :(

I'll buy my scores in a couple weeks and see if it's reporting. Thanks again really appreciate it!

Whoa, whoa Karen.

You've been gone awhile.

The card will probably come with a 03/13 Member Since Year.

I'm going to have to make some calls to try to get 1982 for you.

AmEx has also been skipping reporting to Equifax, so it may never show up there for you.

Wait to see if we can D* you, but if the CL will help in your utilization, get your scores.

Walmart is giving a free TransUnion FICO08 with their store card.

If you're not completely cold turkey, I'd suggest trying to get that card just for the free FICO.

Digital Federal Credit Union will give you a free Equifax FICO04 every month.

In case y'all are wondering, K was clobbered by AmEx for being one of my AUs.

I felt really bad about the collateral damage, so she's the GP for BWAUP v3.0 :D

Bad enough to try to get her into PSECU for a free EX FICO? :P

Already a member of PSECU but haven't applied for anything yet BDK.

You don't have to apply for anything to get the free score, just have checking.

B* was already taken, C* was in use, so D* was the next logical abbreviation.

Maybe we should start referring to AmEx as A* :D

I think A* has already been claimed by A**holes-R-Us but if it fits ...

hairmetal asked.. What year were you BORN?

me 73

wife 82

we both have member since date 1988 now. my next oldest is SLMA 1997. hers is some student debt beginning in 2001. going back to 88 is a pretty big (and impossible in real life) jump for us both.

I had an Emex years ago, it was closed when I had a BK in 2000.

I recently was approved for a new Amex, and it arrived with the member since date of 2013 on the card. I was thinking about calling to see if they would back date the card, and then today when it hit my Experian report, it shows the account was opened in 02/1996.

So apparently they already took care of this for me.

But for anyone reading, its advised to ask them specifically about your "Member Since Date" and not to use the phrase "backdating". ;)

I got a friend to add me as an AU, called up the line for one of the rarest elements in the earths crust. And asked them to fix my member date, because obviously it was a mistake that it was not the same date as the account opening date because I really love the feeling of having been a member for so long. Were my other cards showing the correct date? Um I'm not sure, please fix this one and I will check the others later. The rep was very helpful and sent a request on my behalf. So far, updated member since is showing up on the website about 1 day later. Lets hope my report reflects it later.

Did you call as the AU, or did your friend call as the Primary Member?

TIA, Bob

I called as the AU. I was added to a hotel card, but happened to have the rare metal card of my own, open for almost a year, so i called the rare metal line as their customer service tends to be much better

Bob and everyone who has an idea. I had two prior cards from Amex . They were credit and not charge ones. The cards were closed for non payment. I settled for less than full balance.

Last year I was approved for a Zync and later a Green. Earlier this year I was sent a check from Amex because of the settlement.

Two weeks ago I was approved for the BCE card.

I have called card replacement a few times to have my member since date set back to the original date to no success. The date should be 2006,

Any ideas who to reach out to?

Manny, there may be an issue of 2006 being less than the 10-year forgiveness threshold.

I would ask the next CSR to forward your request to "Research"

AmEx definitely has your records from 2006, but it may take the Research Department to locate them.
