Based on this, it is normal that my first AmEx card was November 2012, and my SECOND AmEx card was February 2012?

So 2012 is now my "backdate" year, and it is basically CurrentMonth 2012 whenever I get future ones...?

FWIW I saw on "that other board that shall remain nameless" that Amex themselves stated they had a very reasonable reason for doing this - when an account was upgraded to a type that, for whatever reason, could not report as the same "account" to the bureaus, it was making the customer look falsely as if they had a NEW account when it was an upgrade to an old one. So, they started using the member since year to report all later accounts.

Was on the blacklist. BK dropped in November.

Activated shiny new BCP today online.

"Thank you for being a Cardmember since 1983".

Nice. Were you blacklisted by AMEX for IIB them?

I can only hope to get their blacklist. 1 more year. gosh darn it.

Not sure how much truth is behind this, but AmEx might be doing it to "look like" that getting their cards has a direct correlation with higher credit scores. And in the case of D*, it actually does.

~$2K, so not a huge amount, but it was older than the BK filing also. Definitely not recent.

I would have applied when Heg first started the big thread, but the BK was still on there.

Have you looked to see if the new TL reports as '83 yet?

Sorry I haven't read this discussion too much.

Something to note is AUs report from the card's open date (no back dating). I'm sure this is well known.

However, what I did is went from a Premier Gold to a Zync card in October. The Gold card was a year old on it's own (back dated several years for me though). The new Zync card reports from October 2012 for my Fiance. I did not add her until November.

A year later and the AU card is still reporting. Sent you an email Bob btw.

Let's hope it continues to report for the full 10 years.

Welcome back, K :D

Hmm, AmEx may be implementing some kind of relationship screening for D* now. :(
