Someone here recently was under the false impression that it was still alive because their cards came with an old MSD.

 

I can't remember who it was.

 

The edit in the first post needs to be updated: "As of March 2015, Amex no longer backdates any accounts, regardless of MSD. Any backdated accounts already reporting are grandfathered in."

There remains one small question re backdating.

 

When Amex's Costco portfolio moves to Citi will previously backdated TruEarnings cards continue to report their backdated open date or will they report the actual date opened?

 

We will know in a few months.
