WTH Time Warner Cable

Back in July, I switched to TWC for cable and internet. I expected a single hard inquiry, but didn't expect to see two in two days.

Why on Earth would they check my credit two times in two days? I really can't think of any good reason.

Honestly, I understand very little of the bumpage. I have tried to follow some of the threads. Seems like a lot of registering and dropping within the free trial credit monitoring services in order to build up enough soft inquires to bump off a single hard inquiry. Like I said, I may not understand it correctly.

There is no way to get legit inquiries (and these are legit) removed without the risk of causing yourself a nightmare of a problem. This thread will be locked if you even hint at disputing them. Therefore I offered you the most reasonable alternative which is costly and a lot of work and to be honest unless you have a crapload of inquiries and planning to apply for credit I would not worry about them. You can also always call TWC and ask them why they pulled twice and hope you get someone competent enough to know that they can recall one of them or have them re-coded to softs, but I highly doubt it.

I wasn't planning on disputing, just didn't understand why they would run it two days in a row. One the phone with TW as we speak.

Also, try and get transferred to "credit analyst" because CSRs don't know ish. I'd also be angry like "going to DirecTV" angry with them.

Finally got to the right department at TWC. They said they would send a request mask or something like that into Equifax that would take care of the one hard inquiry. I am not confident this will happen, but we'll see. I will probably end up with 3 hard inquiries after next week.

Wow, I was thinking of switching over to them too. Guess I'll stay with Directv a while longer.

Update:

 

Checked my EQ CR and TW was good to their word. They did me one better I think. I see 0 hard inquires and 1 soft inquiry for them.
