Gaming, thanks! I was going to try for more, but was wondering if that would make for an awkward conversation when it comes time to cancel "I'd like to cancel... all... um... ten of my accounts with you. Thanks. Um... yeah.. I just really wanted to make sure I was monitoring my credit. '

You could alternate trial/cancel instead .

At one point, I had about 6 different MCK trial accounts. I had no issues canceling them; I just did not do all of the cancellations in one call.

It takes about 3 minute and 40 seconds (+/- 20 seconds) to cancel:

Me: Hi, I would like to cancel - 5 seconds

Them: 2 minute sales script, so you would like to keep the service, right? - 2 minutes

Me: No, I would like to cancel - 5 seconds

Them: No problem, may I ask you why? - 5 seconds

Me: Well, I did not realize that I was already getting a credit monitoring service through a local bank and I can't afford to pay for another. - 10 seconds

Them: Ok, not a problem at all. 1 minute sales script. Ok, so it's ok if we continue, right? - 1 minute

Me: No, I would like to cancel - 5 seconds

Them: Ok, your trial is canceled. Would you like a confirmation? - 10 seconds

Thanks!

Credit Diagnosis: 800-379-5036 & 877-820-7107

(the second one is for the savers club. Not sure what that means, but I'm gonna call just in case, since it did give me two id numbers.)

MyCreditKeeper: 877-276-3919

ID Guard: 800-452-2541

Fifth Third: 866-797-8451

For what it's worth, I had 7 inquiries this morning, after this little stint I'm down to 4.:lol: Now I have to not apply for a while or else I'll have to knock off all those softs I have in front of new hards.

So I cancelled these 5, but my credit card has 7 pending charges. I'm trying to think if one of the other two that said 'you're already a member, sorry' was tricking me. Can anyone tell me if you know what any of these charges are for?

CRDTADPTR $1.00 <-Assuming Credit Diagnosis

CRDTADPTR $1.00 <-Assuming Credit Diagnosis 'Savings Club'

CREDITSCORE24 $1.00

TLG*IDENTITYSECURE $1.00

IDENTITY GUARD $1.00 <-Obviously ID Guard

TLG*PRIVACY GUARD $1.00

PRIVACYM $1.00

So one has to be Fifth Third, and another My Credit Keeper. What about the last two? Tomorrow is my 7th day from signing up, so I'm hoping those two aren't seven day trials.

  • 3 months later...

I'm already with TrueCredit monitoring service (which I like). Which monitoring services are for EXP and EQ.

I really can't afford to pay $45 a month (really over $20 a month) so whould it be best to start with one and then cancel after inq have dropped and move on to the next one...and so forth? (I am getting the free reports once a month from EQ and EXP since I am disputing).

Again just looking for feedback from anyone who has been able to sign up for the same free trial service more than once.

MCK allows you to have as many accounts as you have credit cards to sign up with.

so technically then i can create as many virtual cards as i want and rape MCK?

I often wonder if MCK can come back at you when that card is declined and claim you owe them money. I guess it all depends on what the fine print says.

i highly doubt that if its declined they just cut you off from going beyond the thrity day trial period
