The Master Equifax & TransUnion B* Bumpage Thread

Recommended Posts

LOL I was super eager to have them bumped off my reports. First credit card (Capital One Journey0 opened 6 months ago, then applied for several others and all got declined. Got a Barclaycard Rewards, Capital One Secured and a Discover Secured card afterwards, which lowered my AAOA to 3 months. Now I have 19/23/31 on my TU/EQ/EX reports. Declined for a AMEX PRG earlier this month. Any chance of getting an AMEX now? Thanks.

You should give it some time. It's not the inquiries that is getting you declined. Improve your credit first. 👍🏻

Any way to fudge living in Texas? Like set up a P.O. Box or something? Seems too elaborate to dump some TU inquires, but curious if anybody thinks it's possible.

You can stay off for a day or two and miss major developments... B*is also dead for EQ, BTW. No D* for AmEx, Redbirds are very restricted in their use for MS, and Diners has no more plastic for cards, and Costco Amex is being taken over by Citi.

Liz's digest of Whats Happening on CB for last three months...However, Kman claims to have a B* method for EX...

JUST KIDDING...

I need to log on more often... dam.

EQ in my experience is between 24 and 25 months.

EX always 25 months.

TU...Officially 24 months, but I was seeing inquiries fall off within 14-18 months. Even before I stumbled onto B*

EQ and TU fall off after 24 months on the anniversary date.

EX fall off after the first full non-holiday weekend in the 25th month.

TU inquiries have always fallen off sooner for many people from the softs that count for B*, even when not trying.

This isn't a YMMV subject.

Hi there, newbie here. I made a huge mistake and have a ton of inquiries on my credit report thanks to a Dealership where I bought a car.

is there thread on here that shows how to remove them from my report?

Thank you!

Inquiries from rate shopping for a car loan won't affect your score. Best to just let them age. After 6 months they have no effect at all. Are you getting ready to buy a house or something like that?

Hi Breeze Thank you for the reply.

I am planning to buy a home next year eventually. I would like to have my score bumped up by this year as I am paying off all my collections at the moment. I paid off all my pay day loans and tax liens I had. Next month I pay off my Capital One that went into Collections in full. I'm hoping to see some bumps in my score.

No no no no no.

Paying off that stuff is not going to raise your score.

If anything it's more likely to lower it.

You need to do a lot of reading around here before doing anything.

By next year, inquiries will have 0 impact on your FICOs. Removing all of them would not give you even 1 additional point.

YIKES!!!

I didn't know :(

Well I did want to pay off my PayDay Loans and State Tax Lien and they weren't that old so I needed to do that but the rest I'll send letters out to have them erased off my report.
