If these have "Permissible Purpose" they count.

Somewhat surprising that you have so many of these.

Mine are chopped down to 2 apiece.

They may count for as much as 4, but probably at least 2 more.

Bob, suddenly, I am an B* groupie.

On 2/17/2010 I thought I had 29 - 31 toward TU b*. Today I noticed 2 hards were missing, so I did a backdoor pull on TU and 2 hards, and 2 softs were gone. I have 42 permissible purpose pulls today. I pull USAA and MPM daily.

Last week when I posted I had 97 total inquiries, today I have 98 total inquiries. Do you think it is possible total inquiries on TU cannot exceed 98 and permissible purpose pulls are not what causes b* on TU? Tomorrow another hard should fall off, but it is from when I got my apartment, so I'm not sure if it will b*. In 3 days another hard should get b* if the 98 inquiry theory is correct. If the hard that I expect to B* in 3 days does not show up on the reports from MPM and USAA I will check my account through the TU backdoor on Sunday and update this theory.

I looked into the inquiries you pointed out in the quote above...2 are dated July 2009, 1 is dated Aug 2009 and 6 are dated Feb 2010. I now have 9 of these inquiries, they should be overwriting themselves, but they do not seem to be...will update these when I pull my TU on Sunday.

Wanted to feed this information to you and CreditMonitor2010 for your research on B*.

mliam:

We welcome all and any new researchers to the cause!

I'm only partly facetious when I talk about publishing all our data.

That is a VERY interesting observation on 98 total inquiries.

I'm going to have to review my historical records too.

We need fresh new minds like cm2010's and yours to provide new insights in the science. B)

Bob

I am looking at a report from 2/8/10, and I had the following:

72 softs

5 hards

9 soft PRMs

The soft PRMs dated back to 2/2009, as is expected, but the other softs only went back to 7/2008. Since I have less than the 98 you mentioned, I don't think that is what does it.

Unless I'm missing something..

I'm just getting started with B*.

I currently use Truecredit, and I signed up for CCT.

I have LOTS of inquiries on all three (this was WAY before I found this board):

EX: 14

EQ: 24

TU: 13

when you guys are pulling screenshots, what site are you using?

Be careful, doing the backdoor route COULD put you on the list for Equifax choppage.

Most of us who post screenshots are already being chopped, so we have nothing to lose.

But no C* danger for TU, so backdoor away for TU?

Yes, the only danger there is TU locking you out.

But I think you and Dr. Tang have shown that, that is unlikely.

I do count some entries that do not have permissible purpose notations, like INTERSECTIONS C1M3 and PATHWAY DATA INC.

I only count a total of 11 entries without the permissible purpose notations on my own report, so the 98 theory is not confirmed.

What's a backdoor pull?

I'm pulling from CCT, and Truecredit daily. It's going to take a while to get these down and done.

I took into account your reseach regarding the spelling of "Karman" "Karman A" and "Karmen A"

I only asked if my theory was pausible, because this is the first time I have had B*, and my data is not reflecting all the B* information I have been reading the past few weeks.

Sorry this is not very easy to read, I don't know how to do the screenshots.....much easier to read, and count, in Excel.

Looking forward to your thoughts. ;)

Question to the B* Masters:

I've got three daily pullers running, and TU's recent inqs are disappearing as we speak, and Equifax is now being bumped again (yay!) after a chop around the beginning of the month.

Now, question: I need to get a new PIN from Equifax to unlock my report sometime, and I need to mail my info to them to request it - think this would put me at risk of an unscheduled choppage? 'cause I can wait to get that PIN - I don't need to unlock my report any time soon, just thought I'd check first, to be safe.

;)

And while yes, they can, they seem to have scheduled C-ing, as well as things can can cause C, such as a paper report. Figured I'd check to see if anyone has any experience with it.

According to some here, a paper report can trigger C. One has surmised Equifax does it to save on printing costs.

And I'm not going to either, but asking doesn't hurt.

:P

Off topic, but whatever: in regards to the last line of your forum signature - it gets a thumbs up. I'd love to opt out of that as well, if it happens.

Some brief thoughts for now. On 2/22 you said you had 42 permissible purpose pulls and 8 hards. So that's 50 already. You have some FICO in there and those probably count too. Then you say ARROW got B* so those probably count. So now the count is already close to the 63-66 range for B*. So basically there are some non-permissible purpose softs that do count, but for most people they are very few compared to CS, USAA-CCMP pulls.

By the way, I see you have a lot of Me via TRANSUNION INTERACTIVE I. Did you sign up for and cancel TU-based services? It appears I may be wrong about TU-based pullers leaving only one entry from daily pulls.

CM2010,

The next hard, Equity on Hudson, is gone from USAA and MPM reports today! Depending on which inquiries really are falling off I expect another hard to come off tomorrow or the next day.

Last week Bob Wang commented on all the Me via TRANSUNION INTERACTIVE I that were on my inquiry list. Last summer I signed up for something with TU, but it was not online, so once I realized that I dropped the service within a week or so; I have no idea what is going on with these. I read your postings on TU overwrites, and although my inquires do not reflect your findings, I think your theory is valid, and mine are just a fluke. Somehow these inquiries are stuck on my report.

I'm afraid to pull TU backdoor too often. Early next week I'll pull again and see what softs or hards were b* over the next few days, and if my Me via TRANSUNION INTERACTIVE I count keeps increasing. :cry2:

My idea is that for any one TU puller, it will leave only 1 verification pull and 1 daily pull (Me via TRANSUNION INTERACTIVE I). Maybe you had 3-5 TU pullers at one time or another?

Pretty sure I have not had 3 - 5 TU pullers ever in my life. Having 2 now is causing me palpatations. Called last week to cancel one of the services, but think I might have bought more services from the lady after listening to her sales pitch

Ok. Since everyone seems to be predicting some EQ C* next month, I want to find out how close I am to the magic number of 85.

EQ-Inquiry-2.jpg

Creditexpert/CCT=28

Trucredit/Vertrue/MPM=13

Trucredit/Coverdell MY=1

Fair Isaac=2

CIC/Experian Alrts=1

TOTAL=45

If 45 is correct, then that leaves with 40 more to go. I hope I can make it for 20 more days. I've got a very bad feeling though... :)

45 is correct.

It's possible choppage will be later in March, so don't give up hope yet.
