February 19, 2010 EQ count:

EQfeb19softs.jpg

CIC/EXPERIAN ALRTS (CCT) = 2

CREDITEXPERT (CCT) = 18

FAIR ISAAC (Scorewatch) = 2

TRUELINK (TrueCredit) = 2

total = 24. Yes?

whats credit bureau inc? I searched and it seems to be a collection agency.. but I have nothing left to collect on that I can figure. And what about first advantage credco? I looked and it's an automotive lender credit reporting agency or some such... but we've never had any auto loans so... B)

First Advantage / CREDCO I think used to do Chase's IDP credit monitoring service. I have a ton of softs on my report from them when I used Chase's service. First Advantage also helped in the dispute process when I had a split EQ file.

Yup, CREDCO was the ChIDP puller.

Don't know about Credit Bureau, but I'm pretty sure they don't count.

No steak dinner riding on that though. :D

But I didn't apply for anything with Chase and don't have anything there. But my brother asked them to add me to his Chase card as AU recently... could that have to do with it, do you think?

Both of you are pretty much right on.

The Fair Isaac is iffy at 3, even 2 may be a stretch, so 1 is the safer count.

I would add one for the TransUnion soft inquiry.

So, could be as many as 36, but 34 is the safer bet.

Bob (or anyone):

You've said before that on TU to count any of the softs with PP. I'm assuming that includes insurance underwriting, employment, etc? Just not PRM or AR - right?

TU is not as straightforward as Equifax.

But it is also not as critical to get the exact count right on TU, since TU doesn't chop.

Just using a non-TU based service regularly will usually get TU hard inquiries bumped off.

Got rid of 2 Equifax hard inquiries from January.

Still have a JFCU from 2/12/2010.

So, the Equifax Magic Number of 85 still applies. :)

I'm just hoping choppage stays away for a couple more weeks at least...

Over the months of January and February ive bumped 6 inqs off EQ using CCT and MPM. Im down to one inq. Whats strange about this one is it from 9/2008 and out of the 7 that have bumped off 5 were newer and 2 were older than the one remaining. Any ideas as to why inqs bumped off around this one?

Some inquiries, like life insurance, are "sticky" and have to age off gracefully.

Ok... I have a grasp on bumpage and came to this thread after Equifax told me today they changed their policy on removing inquiries. I know I'm in the right place here, can someone please write a quick explanation of this????

Is this also easier than having the orginal creditor remove the inquiry with a dispute letter?

Thanks in advance!!!

"IF" you get a GLUED DOWN HARD...it is not bad because it means the next "B" comes sooner than it otherwise would have

(it is a newer HARD)

THEY EVENTUALLY GO TOO...

Sometimes you just have to deal with 3 or 4 more recent HARDS going first

If these have "Permissible Purpose" they count.

Somewhat surprising that you have so many of these.

Mine are chopped down to 2 apiece.

They may count for as much as 4, but probably at least 2 more.

Bob, suddenly, I am an B* groupie.

On 2/17/2010 I thought I had 29 - 31 toward TU b*. Today I noticed 2 hards were missing, so I did a backdoor pull on TU and 2 hards, and 2 softs were gone. I have 42 permissible purpose pulls today. I pull USAA and MPM daily.

Last week when I posted I had 97 total inquiries, today I have 98 total inquiries. Do you think it is possible total inquiries on TU cannot exceed 98 and permissible purpose pulls are not what causes b* on TU? Tomorrow another hard should fall off, but it is from when I got my apartment, so I'm not sure if it will b*. In 3 days another hard should get b* if the 98 inquiry theory is correct. If the hard that I expect to B* in 3 days does not show up on the reports from MPM and USAA I will check my account through the TU backdoor on Sunday and update this theory.

I looked into the inquiries you pointed out in the quote above...2 are dated July 2009, 1 is dated Aug 2009 and 6 are dated Feb 2010. I now have 9 of these inquiries, they should be overwriting themselves, but they do not seem to be...will update these when I pull my TU on Sunday.

Wanted to feed this information to you and CreditMonitor2010 for your research on B*.
