Hi all. We need a new net 30 thread for beginners. Not to replace the information here, but to update it. So if you have net 30s that report to D&B or any of the reporting agencies, PLEASE help others out by listing them below. Please keep conversations to just this as to make it as easy as possible for those that are new. If you see one that is out dated, speak up.

Putting together everything that I know ... please let me know if I have listed anything incorrectly. I am going to

verify this information every 30 days for accuracy.

What do I need to start building business credit?

1. Proper paperwork filed for your business entity

2. Business Address:

If you work from home then get a business mailing address from an office suites location like an HQ or Regis Office Suites.

UPS stores are flagged in most lenders systems and do not work anymore. But remember, its ok to work from home.

My business is home based and I did just fine building business credit.

3. Business phone line listed in directory assistance.

This has become a big issue lately with lenders. If you have an office then your perfectly fine.

If you work from home, get an extra line or convert your present line to a business line.

If you use an office suites for your address, add phone answering and ask them to list your line in directory assistance.

They will probably charge you a small monthly fee or a one-time set up charge. The issue here is that

some of the lenders want you to call from the number listed on your application as an additional security check.

Dell is big on this. If you use an office suites address, you can still use your business line that is located in your home,

just have your phone company remove your address from the directory assistance listing , this way it will still show your

company name and phone on the caller ID. Another option is VOIP but some have experienced delays in getting it listed with

directory assistance.

4. DUNS Number

You can call and ask to be listed with DNB or click here for a free number - might take 30 days.

You can get a free number over the phone by stating that you are going to bid for government

contracts by calling this number: 866 705 5711 (Central Contractor Registration - CCR).

Another option is to obtain credit from some of the Starter Accounts listed below and your DUNS number and report

will "self create". This is actually the best way but may take just a bit longer.

REMEMBER: If you are a real business with real customers and obtain real credit from the starter accounts - you will

get a self created file! Most Experian and Equifax files are self created.

It is not recommended that you pay for any type of Credit Builder from DNB. It is a waste of money.

5. Once you receive your Duns number you can apply for your eupdate access. Just go to www.dnb.com/eupdate and

enroll. CAUTION: You should only check your file with DNB once every 2 weeks. If you check it alot, it will throw up

a flag with DNB.

Your next step is to obtain credit from 5 of the tradelines below:

Quill www.quill.com 800 789 1331 Net 30 DNB / Experian

Comments: General office supplies. They will verify your company with DNB, you don't have to have credit but they like for you to be listed. You may

have to place a small order and pay up front, then they will put you on Net 30 Terms. Some are still getting the first order on terms.

COMPANY WEBSITE PHONE TERMS REPORTS TO

Uline www.uline.com 800 958 5463 Net 30 DNB / Experian

Comments: Sells shipping supplies. Similar to Quill in getting an account. Most are still getting Net 30 terms but if they do ask for payment on the first order, go ahead and place a small order and pay for it. Once you receive it, place a second order and they should allow you to pay by Net 30 Terms. They report rather quickly so its worth it.

COMPANY WEBSITE PHONE TERMS REPORTS TO

Big Apple Outlet www.bigappleoutlet.com 888 951 0006 Net 30 DNB / Experian

Comments: Sells t-shirts with graphics. Reports to Experian very quickly. DNB took about 45 days. You have to place an order and pay for 1/2 of it up front until you pay for a couple of orders. They offer credit line increases with future orders. Easy account to get, reports fast, and you can work your credit line up to $5,000

If you are in the beginning stages of credit establishment you'll most likely have to pay for your first order and then request terms. I was told that if you had a tradeline or 2 you could get terms right away but most of us here are using them to establish, Reported for me after 60 days.

COMPANY WEBSITE PHONE TERMS REPORTS TO

Fedex www.fedex.com 800 463 3339 Net 15 Unverifiable

Comments: I have a fedex and kinkos account. Neither has never reported for me although in a phone call

verification I was told that they do report to DNB. Could be the lack of knowledge from the CSR.

CB'ers confirm that fedex probably does not report. Another issue with fedex is that you will most likely

have to put a credit card on file for the first few months and then go on net 15 terms.

COMPANY WEBSITE PHONE TERMS REPORTS TO

Grainger www.grainger.com 800 323 0620 Net 30 DNB

Comments: Place order and ask to be invoiced. I had to pay the first order upfront but the nextone they

put on terms. Some have gotten terms on first order.

I left the net 30's on here that do not report so that no one has to ask about them.

If you pick 5 of the best ones here and place an order then pay the invoice on time, you should develop a paydex score within 60 days, however, be patient. Sometimes it can take longer.

Also - a comment on the day that you discover that you now have an 80 Paydex:

DO NOT APPLY IMMEDIATELY! YOU WILL GET DENIED!

Make sure that you wait until you have a full 5 tradelines showing. You may see a paydex with 3 tradelines but Wait Wait Wait!!!!

When you have 5 tradelines - wait one more week before applying for any of the next level of accounts. You file has to be completely updated and thru all of the systems for a creditor to see the full report.

For those who don't know - DNB updates early Sunday morning.

You should check your eupdate after 10:00 AM. As stated before - check it every 2 weeks and no more.

(Will be adding more info soon...)

Bingo!!!

I think I got it right this time!!!

Hope this could help!!!

Thanks!

I have been reading the posts like a maniac!!!!

You have greinger as a TL, do they show up in either one of your reports?

I'm not really sure, I'm not real good at reading who reports what, especially in those small $50 starter account lines...

Posted

I'm pretty sure Greinger reports to D&B...i'll have to check next time I look at my D&B file.

I have yet to see Reliable report to Experian. I only have 2 TLs on that report...Uline and Quill.

I wish we could get a bigger list of who reports to Experian...that's my biggest weak link in my credit profile. Thanks for all the hard work guys!!

I've been doing a lot of researching over the past 6 months in regards to establishing business credit and a LOT has changed since then. What do you guys think about creating a NEW, CONSOLIDATED list of the different tiers of accounts? There are a LOT of extremely useful threads out there that go over this but they are all outdated at this point in regards to the accounts within the tiers...i.e. Staples used to be an EASY account to get. Now, you'll get denied if this is one of the first you go after.

If you all want to help add to the list (name and tier), I will update this initial post with the data as to make it easier to find in the future. Also, do we go with 3 or 4 tiers?

Thanks in advance guys!

Thanks for doing this! I have a C- corporation that I built in 06 that has great credit. I am now trying to help Fiancee with his LLC which has been in business for 5 years. I know a lot has changed given the climate of the country since 2006. Is it wise to build credit under his LLC? He has been using his personal credit for his business!!!

What are you saying about staples will you not get the same message and call in and get approved or what. How are the tiers ordered as in tier III easiest to get?

BTW have one business thats not doing good because of the economy and just started the other business today waiting to to everything approved by the SOS office. Hopefully soon Ill be up and running.

Tier one info only.

Look over the companies listed below. If you see a company that you could use, locate the app in the Tier 1 app Sticky. If you are unsure what a company sells... run a google search for their website.
