Tried to get a Net30 with Quill

I ordered a few nicknacks from Quill today and told them that I wanted to open an account.

Fellow in the credit department told me I need to be on a 3 month period where they would monitor my volume and determine what my credit limit will be. It makes sense but I dont want to be ordering crap over the next 3 months just to get a TL from Quill.

Has anyone heard of this?

Am I better off canceling my order and placing it with another company like Reliable?

I dont have any TLs showing even though I have ordered many times with Uline.

TIA

Uline is probably on Experian, ever check it? Quill doesnt surprise me since that is basically what they told me as far as reporting was after the 3rd consecutive order they would then report. Now it seems they have went to prepay for those 3 months.

Also Reliable doesnt report anymore and also will have the 3 months prepay.

LOL, was the guy's name Daryel(sp?) Watson? That guy is a total jerk in the credit department, he gave me nothing but trouble when I first started out.

I think reliable does report, as I have them on my D&B.

Greywolf, I didnt catch his name but that might have been it.

He wasn't a jerk about it but Im not happy about prepaying when all I want is the TL and place orders sporadically .

I can get all the supplies I want locally and for a lot cheaper.

Unfortunately I'm not in the position to be fussy so I might have to bite the bullet for 3 months.

Just wanted to know if I had another option. The Uline credit line was too easy to get and maybe Im a bit spoiled off that.

Even if I get a $100 limit from Quill its okay. Its getting places to report so I can move on to bigger and better things Im concerned about.

Starting off sucks...

Thanks folks

From Quill

Thank you for writing Quill.com. We have updated your account with your

DUNS number. Credit reporting to DNB begins after 3 consecutive months

of order/payment history on your account, which you just completed on

December 15. Reporting to DNB is done automatically at the end of each

month and there is no action required on your part for reporting. We do

not report to Experian. Feel free to contact us at 800-789-8965 with any

questions you may have.

We appreciate your business. Thank you for choosing Quill.com, the best

experience in office products.

Sincerely,

Straight from the horses mouth.

Thanks Truckn'

You have to be careful when talking to horses, because some of them don't know their mouth from their flowers. CSRs are notorious for being wrong/misinformed.

This was from the finance dept at Quill and it was on my particular account and I have always been net30 with them. I still dont truly know if they are reporting since basically the same accounts in which I "think" is Quill is might actually be Uline on both Experian and DNB. Although I did recently make sizeable purchases with both Quill and Uline so hopefully when/if that reports I will truly find out.
