You don't indicate if you defaulted in Texas or moved here since the default.  You DO need to be in the State for a year to gain the limitations protection outlined in the Civil Practice and Remedies Code.

 

Being in Texas, go find the master thread in the pinned topics that was started by WalterG and built upon work I had previously done using Texas law, which is a far superior option than federal law for those in Texas. 

 

Make sure you have PAPER reports, not just online printouts...yes, it matters.

Awesome, thank you for the advice. I've been a Texas resident for 9+ years, so everything has occurred here.
