Why??

I just found this amazingly awesome link, and downloaded the pdf to my ibooks. I'm looking at the dates on it. 2005!! 2005, back when our credit was in the toilet, and we were living in a hotel with our first son, who was a tiny baby, because no one wanted to rent to anyone who had an eviction on their reports. (Certain apartment complexes in northern VA can be ruthless and downright disemboweling with some of their collection tactics and psychology.)

Whhhy did I not find you people? I sat around on the net all day with a baby on my breast. I lived on the internet back then. (...ok, still do.) I searched and devoured information about credit. I struggled to understand debt to income ratio (which, I didn't quite get until I opened this link and started reading, we had it ALL WRONG.)

WHERE WAS MY HEAD? WHAT COMPLETELY TRIVIAL USELESS INTERNET TIME SUCK KEPT ME FROM FINDING YOU PEOPLE? What was I doing, spending too much time on mothering.com? You people were *right here* within a stone's throw distance, right in the days and years before we ended up filing bankruptcy, in 2007. We had to take a class first, and I *STILL* did not come out on the other side with a clear head on exactly how to use credit! I could have avoided all of that if I had pulled my head out from under a rock and found you people before hand! We could probably be owning a house right now. I'm overwhelmed with intense conflicting emotions right now, having observed the date on this seminar. We could have avoided bankruptcy!

Don't spend anymore time in the past! Live in the Here and Now..

I have sent numerous letters to Original Creditor for verification of debt. I asked for all relevant data, not just a one sheet summary but a thorough audit. I continue to receive stalling letters simply saying that I did not indicate specific information I was requesting to verify or that the information sent to them by the bureau may not have contained everything needed to fully understand the reason for dispute. This is a headache and have been going on for the last few months. What should be my next step?

It would be better if you start your own thread. :)

Captain janeway:

We are in the same boat, I too am about to battle a northern va apt complex. Yikes they are vicious up here. Have my little baby too, to boot. I totally can relate and glad to know I am not alone! Thank goodness for this forum.

Hello Everyone!

I am new here to Credit Boards but I'm not all that new to credit repair. I actually cleared my own credit up about 6 years ago but unfortunately it needs to be done again. So, this document is really helping get back on my grind and to get everything setup correctly so that I my credit cleaned up without too many issues ( I pray).

Thank you so much for sharing this information, I am only in chapter 1 and I am already intrigue by the info Randy is providing.

I will be sharing my journey here on CB and look forward to all the wonderful support.

im with you on this diva

Hello all,

I am new here and have read up to Credit 104. It is a lot of information, but it is so important that I couldn't stop reading. I'm breaking now, but will be here for a while as I like what I see.

Thank you for sharing this information

Yep, but a member condensed it, removing the chit chat. It was pretty much a different group of people, so it would be a little distracting. Some reference threads are read-only, no banter allowed. We left this one open, it's pretty obvious where the seminar ends and the banter begins

PsychDoc's Credit Repair for Beginners = Awesome Reading Material. It was like reading a good short story. I couldn't put it down. I'm looking to be mortgage ready by next spring. I only have 1 baddie (a collection from Midland). But, I have no real revolving credit (1 auto loan, 2 credit cards= 1 Express card I forgot even existed, last used in 2007 and 1 CapOne QS1 opened Jan 2015).

Moving on to more reading material, Jen's Guide...

I ignored this because by the time I had found credit boards, I was already familiar with the CRA dispute process.

This document completely redefined what I thought "beginner" meant.

Incredibly useful for someone who has been reading creditboards every day for weeks and weeks and thought they were past the basics.

Same here. Have lurked and read for so many hours I wonder how many days or weeks it would add up to and although never poking my head out to post, thought I had absorbed all the newbie info. Downloaded and printed this out 3 nights ago and realized I am back to "beginner" status once again. But Hallelujah to the person that put this together. Feel like if I read this repeatedly over time there will eventually be a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

I filed for CH7 BK in 2014 and I'm trying to work on rebuilding my credit. I started with Secured Credit Cards and Now I have 3 but haven't been able to qualify for a "unsecured" I really need help/advice. I keep getting rejected for credit cards and I don't want to keep loosing points on my CRS but I can't seem to get passed the secured cards and into a normal unsecured credit. I am afraid to even apply for a loan because of hard inquiries as well. I am also paying a company to help me in the credit repair process but its oh soooo slow.. :sorry:

Thanks.

Look here for bk-friendly creditors. If you have negatives that were added after your bk was discharged, it will be harder. If not, we can help you clean it up. You don't need to pay anyone to repair your credit. No one care like you do. Face it, if they get it cleaned up, you stop paying them, right?
