brandog
Read through the doc and it was a lot of good info in it. Every new member should read this over at least once to familiarize yourself with the process!
Welldangit
Thanks Mark! It makes it easy to print, study and mark up.
punkinbee59
although it's five years old, I hope the information is still relevant and current despite the credit industry's changing the rules of the game. is there a way to update anything to keep up with the complexity?
Admin breeze Posted April 20, 2010 Author Admin Share Posted April 20, 2010 I don't think the info covered in the seminar would become outdated easily. It's really pretty generic, and mainly provides an overview and the philosophy behind what we do. Everyone should read the latest version of the FCRA, FACTA, and FDCPA. But the basic principles won't change. even though the details of what works best may change as the laws are updated. That's why we use the message board format. Information is constantly being updated. Anyone who reads only one thing and then goes to work on their reports is likely to make serious mistakes. Jen23514
Done. Read it. Its a lot to soak in. I still reread his seminar frequently. As my needs change, what information I glean changes as well.

gayleo
Not sure if this is the right spot for this....but I used this 'guide' back in 2006/2007 to clean up our credit. We had all sorts of junk on our CR and did not actively use credit so our scores were just horrible. I was aching for a new house. So using this guide I was able to clean our reports up enough and we qualified for a gorgeous home. It has been a few years since I have checked our credit..as we still don't use credit cards and such to live...and was horrified to find some of that junk reappeared after we moved....most of it is already been paid or a duplicate. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks...and as I forgot most of what I learned, I will be reading till my eyeballs fall out to fix this mess of a CR. They don't give up - even paid debts seem to haunt us forever. But, it's like riding a bike - you don't really forget.

shootforthestars
Thank you for the condensed version! I read the old version and it was much harder to get through. I feel like I'm in college reading this . I have a request. Could you consider having a Q/A chat session some how for all who have read this a few times and who are newcomers? Some of us have read this a few times, read everything we can find on the board, and still have question which are probably the same exact questions as each other. When we post them they look silly because in the oldie's minds the questions have been answered, but some of us need more basic answers than are provided. Would a Q/A chat session be a possibility? DaDV
I started using the outline provided about a year ago with almost all my scores below 550 - they are now TU 640, EX 648 and EQ 683 There are many posts on Creditboards that contributed greatly but this info was VERY helpful. I'm not done fixing stuff yet
Colin Scott
Thanks man .. it was very interesting, but whoa dude so much data. I will have to digest it all. It proves that even when you pay off your debt it will haunt you. I found some things that I would add from the FTC US gov site too. http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre21.shtm

SaintRob
Thanks for this information and I will look at using some of these principles. From some of the comments on here it seems like even after you dispute it and they take it off they can still add it back on later. Is this legal for them to do, and if so then what do you do about it? Would you send them the same letter that got them to remove it in the first place? I know that I have asked a few collection agencies to provide me with all the information about the debt and they just quit calling but it is still on my record. I didn't do it in the form of a letter like the seminar is suggesting so I really don't have a leg to stand on but I will start using the letters and save all the information in case it ends up going to court. Also, do I send these letters to the collection agency itself or is this something that I send to the bureau's to dispute the debt? I know there are some really old things on my file that some of the collection agencies couldn't validate by the laws you stated. Finally, does this work when contesting an account that was charged off or is it just for current collection accounts? I have read the majority of the seminar but it is so much to absorb that I would just appreciate it if someone could answer these few questions for me. Thanks, Rob
flynn
Thanks to PsychDoc's techniques I went from crappy credit six years ago to buying a house one year ago. yippee
Thunder-Bolt
Been reading PsychDoc's Credit Repair PDF well over an hour..LOL This has been a great help but still need time to absorb it all...read it several times is my advice..lol I like the part how we are instructed to go thru our credit report and then it explains how to mark each baddie and how to handle each one accordingly. This alone really helps how to get the repair ball rolling when you are feeling overwhelmed and don't know where to start.
Banditz
HOLY COW! I'll admit, I skimmed over as much as I could. Not nearly done with it even now..But gotta say there is a TON of info in there! I think this will be my own personal little bible! LOL Now to just let it all soak in!
