What is a good bedtime for a 10 year old (eleven in 15 days), 8 year old, and a Baby?

One says 10. The other says 11. I think they're both lying.

They also allege weekends require special consideration.

Like the fact that they haven't yet had brownies which Rom hasn't yet baked. This is a valid point.

Baby says it's bed time, but she wants to sleep in Rom's lap. She found a Scooby Doo alarm clock, and claimed it as her "truck". She is running around with her 'truck' on a leash. On one hand I feel bad about her playing with things with wires, on the other, it seems to be going pretty well. <_<

UPDATE> Rom is now baking brownies.

Weekends ARE special consideration because the later the go to bed the late they get UP. Meaning you get to sleep in. HELLO???

:P

No. NOnono. Galapago is picking them tonight. I think. :P I'm only in charge until about midnight. But only loosely.

I see. Then give them Nyquil or Benedryl so they fall asleep promptly.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DO NOT DO THAT. IT WAS A JOKE. :P

But if you do, you didn't here it from me.........

Ok...in all seriousness, and where I live it is well past midnight.....make them run around as much as possible. When I was a little girl, my grandmother would make us run around the house 10 times before we could come inside. She was a smart lady. Wore us out. Try some creative "running" around the house.

Ahhhh, well then be loose with the rules, fun and especially sugar, put extra sugar in brownies. It will help keep Galoma awake on drive home :P:P

I told you I had my cell with me for a reason.

1. Bedtime is usually 9. On weekends, sometimes 930. I didn't want to break this to you, since when I dropped them off at 8:30 you had yet to make brownies, and, like #2 kindly demanded, I knew she was expecting dessert.

2. Never trust kids telling you their bedtime.

3. Sorry we ran late. Traffic. But since all were sleeping when I got there, looks like you did great :)

(thanks.)

they do not sleep later when they go to bed later, they just wake up crankier

@ Snorkles... you done good...are your ovaries aching yet?

@ #2's mama... ya shoulda took a pic...sleeping kids are the cutest

Truth. All of them were up by 7. So far there have been no meltdowns. I'm betting they're coming.

Snorkle is awesome. My kidlets adore her, and they are a tough crowd.

Apparently, #1 beat her at scrabble too. Intriguing.

Bedtime. FAIL. #1 was a sweetheart, she helped with Baby. #2 Claimed she never goes to bed. (but was first to pass out) Baby entered a behavior we have only theorized happens before, but never got to see first hand. I think she may have sideways rolled across my entire apartment at some point.

Ovaries hurt.

This is true. I AM super cute when I sleep. :good:

#1 and #2 are good with me. The Baby, however, I think prefers Rom. And by that, I mean, she doesn't give a flying hoot about me and is ALL about Rom. :P

I heard Rom petted her to sleep, and she fell asleep in his armpit. I also hear that you cheated and didn't live us the mandatory juice bottle. Baby can't be falling asleep and drinking juice out of a shot glass. Luckily, by this time I was passed out with #2.

Baby with her "truck on a leash" aka the alarm clock:

Baby "licking" applesauce.

Of course they won in scrabble.

They didn't let me keep score, they traded letters, made up words, and then Baby came over, learned she couldn't play, and sat there with these giant eyes full of tears and a tremblig lower lip. Until she was allowed to play. Then it was 3 against one, and did I mention they cheated?

"Joe"?

"qua"??

Counting triple letter tiles that Baby put random letters on sideways as part of their score???

Isn't that the truth?

Unless it's a special occasion, I'm the mean mom that makes my kids go to sleep at more or less the same time on weekends and vacation. :dntknw:
