For those of you with guns, how are you able to "reach" for them at night? Are they temporarily removed from case at night?

Mine sits on my night stand with a round chambered. In the morning I clear the chamber & put everything in my safe under the bed. We are empty nesters so that's why this works for me.

No but she will alert us to someone being in the house long before said armed intruder actually makes it anywhere near where we sleep.

 

I also don't live where armed intruders are likely to be coming into my house, statistically speaking. (Yes, I know it can happen anywhere. But it would be a statistical outlier. I have chosen to accept that risk. The alternative risk involved my child and a gun and there is no acceptability in that.)

 

Our guns are also not intended for home protection. I have never even fired mine - it was inherited. DH takes his to the range. We also have a couple of hunting bows. We keep those in the garage.

 

So frankly, I'm okay with what we do. And am not particularly interested in fear tactics.

That may be, but most intruders are cowards looking for easy prey. In most cases if they hear a dog barking they will move on.

That may be, but most intruders are cowards looking for easy prey. In most cases if they hear a dog barking they will move on.

 

 

Right. Attention drawn to them is something avoided at all cost. Unless their goal is not simple robbery. In which case you got a whole nother set of problems that a gun under the pillow may or may not solve.

I don't like guns. Maybe if I shot something smaller than a .357 I'd like them better. My ex took me to shoot guns and I shot his. It scared the crap out of me. :good:

 

My boyfriend loves guns. He goes to every gun show within 100 mile radius. He has several and a CHL. I'm not sure what kind he carries in his car.

Bought an HK p30 a while ago. It's a really sweet pistol.

 

Wanted to see how the SW M&P 9mm compact was for accuracy. Both times I went to the range it was being used for training. Anyone have it or shot one?

 

Well, had the opportunity to shoot the 9c this afternoon. Nice for a concealed carry pistol. And, accuracy is surprisingly good for a compact.
