Ok, as I've stated previously I received a big fat no applying for a Visa by Sportsmans Warehouse - by US Bank. I received 2 letters on the same day:

Unable to approve at this time, - the reasons:

-Your Identity

Decision based in whole or in part on info obtained from the following consumer credit reporting agency:

CSC Credit Services.

I then received this letter:

Thank you for applying bla bla bla.

You recently received a notice of Adverse Action advising of the reasons for denial as well as the credit bueau agencies utilized to make the decision regarding your application. We regret to inform you the credit bureau agencies included on your previous letter are incomplete. The additional credit bureau agencies that played a role in the decision of your application are as follows:

IDA, Inc. Consumer Assistance Center -(address)

Advanced Resolution Services (address)

You have the right under the FCRA to know the info contained in your credit file at the consumer reporting agency. The reporting agency played no part in our deicsion and is unable to supply specific reasons why we have denied credit to you. You also have a right to a free copy of your report from the reporting agency, if you request it no later than 60 days after you receive this letter. In addition, if you find any information contained in the report you receive is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to dispute the matter with the reporting agency.

US Bank.

What are these two other services? I don't get it!!!!

That is the part I don't get. First it's identity... then I get an oops letter, these 2 other agencies played a role in the denial but then they didn't and couldn't supply specific reasons? I don't understand this at all. Can I call both companies and request copies of the information?

Can anyone help with this, or have you seen this before? Are these agencies looking at the same credit reports I am or what type of derogatory information would they have that I don't have on all three hard copies of my credit report?

Has anyone ever requested their report through CSC services? I checked them online, and they offer online reports through equifax. Which I already have directly through equifax - and my report is clean. So- I'm still stumped as to what the reason is for the decline on the card- they report through CSC, then tell me that they also consulted two other services but those two didn't have any part in the decline. Am I missing something- who should I call for answers as to the reasons for the decline? US Bank? Or just write to get copies of all the reports and see what they are seeing?

I haven't seen the name "IDA, Inc. Consumer Assistance Center", before.

But here is additional information about Advanced Resolution Services which is a part of ICS ... Issuers' Clearinghouse Service

(1) http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?s...p;#entry3318579

(2) "ICS (Issuers Clearinghouse Service) Which Issuers Report Inquiries to ICS - AOR Killer? Inquiry Safehaven?"

http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/finance/854501

Those are the main threads. You can find some additional but smaller discussions if you do a search for:

+issuers +clearinghouse

Doing a search for "ICS" won't work because that word is too small.

I received the same 2 letters - and my decline letter mentioned 3 reasons:

-Number of consumer inquiries

-Severe consumer credit delinquency

-Numerous recent inquiries

It was then followed by Experian's contact info. I went to the Experian website and checked out my credit report and it was fine - no negatives. I've never missed a payment or even paid interest in my life (13yrs credit history), and had about 6 inquiries this year. I am curious about the "severe consumer credit delinquency". My dad's first name is my middle name and he's a total deadbeat, has 1 bankruptcy and on way to 2nd. If my Experian report is clear, should I be worried? And will both IDA/ARS have the same info? I only apply for credit to do app-o-ramas (mildly - maybe 3 cards and $30-40k at any one time).

Does anyone else find it odd that a company that's supposed to be protecting you from identity theft is asking you to create an identity theft gift basket and stick it in your mailbox? When I called IDA it was just a recording w/ a mailing address, no way to talk to anyone, will try ARS today.
