I agree with OP. Love Discover! DH has his own card and I have mine and we're also both AUs on each other's accts. I think Discover offers more cash back than any other cards (Citi, BofA, Chase). During holidays, they offer double cashback! There's no limit to how much you can earn and they offer so many different categories quarterly + they offer special days when you can earn more cash back and give you coupons. I've even earned cash on back on my phone/cable bills this year. You also save when you are redeeming your cash back -- I usually get the partner gift cards. Whenever I called Customer Service, they have been wonderful and my last CLI was huge! IME, Discover is the best!

i have no problems with Discover. I've asked for $5,000 CLI each time (to maintain or decrease my debt-to-credit ratio) and they always give it to me (except one time when I did it before their 6 month time frame).

On a side note, before I call Discover, does anyone know whether Discover offers Purchase Checks for non-business purposes? I want to pay my property taxes and utilities with purchase checks and build up some reward points.

what is your current limit?

Hi-

In reading the threads here, and in my own experience, I now believe that Discover Card is the 'Best Of Bread'.

The seem to be very stable with their CL's - very rare CLD's or account closures. Continued CLI's, in spite of the current economy.

Top-notch customer service - anytime I have called, they answer right away, pleasent to talk with and very helpful.

They have nice features like the 'Cash Over'.

I know in the past, people used to think Amex was tops, but after seeing the way so many CBer's have been treated by Amex, they are not even close to the company they used to be.

What do you think?

Somebody will be along soon to tell you that AMEX has done nothing BAD to them

6...5...4...3......

George, I love Amex.

We should become friends....

But Disco is #1 and then Amex comes in at number 2.

The only bad thing Amex did to me is promise me a $5 courtesy credit and never came through on it.

I'll get over it one day.

...But all in all I think Discover is a card I like more now than say a year ago.

+1

What was your limit in your original post and what is it now?

I couldn't get above 10K until the CLI train began running 18 months or so ago. I stopped at 50K.

Honestly in the same boat. I outgrew the Motiva some years ago. The CLIs over the last year have been amazing, but now that mine is PC'd to an It I've actually used the card for some of the 5% categories.

"Motiva" sounds like a brand of adult diapers.

I would rather eat yellow snow than have a discover card.

Dislike them that bad?

well the card is mostly useless outside the U.S. and discover is the HOME of the "zero percent BT" as long as you buy something at regular APR each month and we get to charge you interest on that and not apply payments to the higher APR balance scam.

:)
