Yes, my WorldPoints Visa was an L.L.Bean Visa before Barclays took over.

Bob, you obviously are luckier than I!

My history, I was told by Fia/BOA, for my Visa couldn't be transferred over to anything else! And I couldn't change an Amex into a HK visa!

I was told I needed to create a new fresh application for a credit card! :swoon:

Maybe they just don't like me as much as you, hahaha.

I can't tell you how many times BofA told me I couldn't convert.

I think it was Shawnee who mentioned he got converted, so I decided to try again today.

I would keep calling BofA, I think it really depends on whom you get.

I think I used to get India by calling the number on the back of my WorldPoints.

Bob,

I am glad you finally got that converted. It really just depends on who answers the phone at BOA. In any case, I only use my Costco Amex at Costco. If there is any issue with my Costco Amex, my BOA Amex will be my primary backup. I also have a Citi Amex which backs up the BOA Amex.

I guess that if it wasn't for Costco I wouldn't have a need for the Amex network.

Congrats! :D

But with a visa to AMEX conversion, your account number will actually change. So, I will be curious if it reports as a new account as well...

I called them once this weekend and got told I'd have to submit to an online credit app if I wanted a different card. No conversions were possible.

Then I called to the number that someone gave in another forum here that they'd used for CLI. This time, I was told that I could get WP added (something else I wanted) but they'd have to send me a new card number. I accepted that because I thought it was the best they could do. *crap*

All I wanted was to get a card without an AF (the visa was originally 99/500) and get WP. I know that their points are horrible, but if I'm going to use the card, I should get SOMETHING.

I guess I'll call back in another month after I get the new card, Bob.

I normally sang BOA's praises, but they're startin' to frustrate me here... :o

I converted my MC to the AMEX and I kept the history with no new tradeline showing on my reports.

ETA: Mine was fully secured to start. I did the conversion when it unsecured, not once, but twice! It no longer has the AF listed when I check my online account.

I have been trying to convert my BOA Worldpoints AMEX to the Accelerated Cash Rewards for months! I will give this number a try and see if it works. I will update later.

I made that particular conversion on my first request. The history transferred, only the account # changed.......No new app, no "new" acct.

Just the acct # changed........and the Worldpoints acquisition rate.

I'm relatively certain that this conversion was a simpler event than converting either the MC or Visa to the BOA Amex.

Hola, Big Bear ! I thought about feeding mine to the Bull in lieu of converting to the Accelerated Rewards Amex. It was just after I had sought a CLI on The Bull, and was denied for lack of use......lol.....and the "old standard", "Sufficient CL Exposure for Income level", which was somewhat laughable........So I rethought my gambit and changed directions.......abruptly.

After converting, the only fairly annoying observation was that BOTH BOA Amex cards started showing up in online banking, with "mirrored" numbers, except for acct. numbers............Unfortunately, after 4 months of attempting to rectify this, the points on the old card disappeared............Upon calling BOA, I was advised that, telephonically, I had agreed to "give up" the points accrued on the original card, in exchange for the conversion to the Accelerated Rewards card...........which was absolute BS. After a few "well-placed" calls to Corporate, they admitted the "mistake", replaced the points previously earned, and added 2,500 points for my "trouble"...............which amounted to "squadouche". (not much of anything)

once, I was told I could get one card converted, but they had to pull the credit report. however, it had been blocked/frozen.

no go for me then...

so i guess it is possible, only--- they have to pull another report.

Bob, did they pull a report to convert your account?
