ok, I am going to post here, against my better judgment. I rarely read much of RDG's threads because, well, his style is not my cup of tea, and the threads tend to get highly charged. so I'll post on saturday, when probably not many people will see it anyway.

but I've been thinking about the flowers idea, and I think it does address some of the things we like (I like) -- creativity, persistence, flexibility. it was a short cut, I think, and cheeky as hell. but sometimes cheeky can be good. and like psychedoc said -- if one intervention does not work, move on to the next one, and the next one, and so forth. nothing works 100% of the time.

some people have said it never happened. I dont think that is important. I guess I am thinking, would I do it?

what would be some possible outcomes?

everyone might try it. but what if everyone did it? what if all 75,000 of us did it, plus the lurkers? we wouldnt probably all do it on the same day. so what if Ex began to look like a flower shop? what if it became like the company joke -- who's getting flowers today???

I have to say, if I'm the CSR who gets flowers along with a dispute, I would give it some extra attention. I would appreciate it, I really would. even if I knew it was a gimmick, I'd still need a pretty good reason NOT to give the flower sender what he wants. I would probably go out of my way to give it some consideration. that's just me, and I'm a girl, so maybe it's a girl thing.

but I think if I had a viable actual name, and I could be sure the flowers would actually get to a real person, I might consider doing it sometime in the future. but I would make damn sure I have a good reason to dispute the TL -- I would make very sure I was right in asking for the deletion, or whatever. and I would make sure I had gone through all the proper steps before I did this as pretty much a last resort.

so props to RDG. cheekyness works for you, as it does for so many folks who are cheeky.

having said all that, I DO have a contact at Ex, and a valid dispute to make. am I going to send him flowers? HELL NO. I'm going to send an ITS letter.

but let's just say, flowers are now in my quiver along with the arrows. I think.
