This Asset collection is the only thing holding me back from getting a home loan and I want to get out if the house I'm renting ASAP. I sent a DV to Asset this weekend CMRR. Do I really have to wait until they send something back to complain? So far I have the first generic "validation" they sent. A hardcopy of my report from EQ showing them reporting as an open loan and a factoring company, and a hardcopy of my report from TU showing them reporting as a factoring company and showing that TU validated it. They never sent an initial letter, they just showed up on my credit reports.

Should I file complaints with the BBB and FTC as well?

You can if you want. The FTC will send you a letter basically saying thank you and they compile consumer complaints for possible future use. The BBB may try to help, but Asset may not care. The Mi AG has the claws to rip them to shreds and is the one complaint Asset took seriously.
