Both NASA and Patelco pulled for me, just got my Chex report last week. Sounds like it's a YMMV type thing.

Let me rephrase my post. I can't say that Patelco didn't pull Chex on me but if they did, it did not deter them from approving me for a savings acct.

You can order your Chex report or if you're denied, the lender will tell you if it was because of Chex. Chex is a report of your negative banking activities like overdrawn accounts that were not paid timely, etc.

I am not longer in Chex though.

To clarify, I've never had a negative with Chex but the problem is each time a CU or Bank pulls them to check, it counts as an inquiry. To date, I've not found a way to get B* on Chex!

I should clarify also. If one has negative banking history, that is where it will show, on Chex.

They didn't for me. Nor did NASA, Penfed or DCU. YMMV.

Hey Jazzy....I am in Chex and opened a savings with Patelco last year. They did pull a Chex report and denied me a checking due to my Chex report; and told me that they could only open a savings if you are in Chex.
