Well, we found out day before yesterday that my wife is 5 weeks preggo.

we told our daughter last night. she was all excited until my wife explained to her that they will probably do a c-section since she had to have one with Hailey. then she almost came to tears saying "i don't want them to cut you up Mommy!" we explained it and showed the scar from her birth, and she was fine then. she said "so you will only be deaded for a little while?" i just about fell out the chair.

this morning she told my wife bye she loved her, and told her to be careful with HER baby. i swear i think she wants the baby more than we do!

she is 3 going on 21. my great uncle swears she is a midget and at least 20 years old.

she has already decided that we can put the baby in HER room and she will take care of him/her. that is going to be the hardest part, getting her to understand she just cannot do a whole lot. she was telling us last night how she would get it's bottle and hold it and feedit and change it's poo-poo diapers and rock it to sleep and bathe it and take it outside to paly and take it to school so her friends could see it, ETC...ETC...ETC... for 2 hours straight!

my wife picked up some stork figurines that are holding a bunny in each arm, one in a pink blanket and one in blue. we gave those to my mom and her dad. it took both of them almost 2 full minutes to catch the meaning. then they started crying.

so by the time it comes i will have a 17 year old, a 4 year old, and a new born.

Ha! My dd was only 14 months when ds was born. If there was a bottle to be given, she would sit on the floor beside his pumpkin seat and hold it for him. If he cried, she'd find his pacy and put it in his mouth. If he was awake and in the pumpkin seat, she'd rock him in it.

She is the primary reason why the boy is now approaching 14 years old and still doesn't do nearly what he should for himself.

Congrats! Sounds like your little one cannot wait for the baby.

And her reaction is WAY better than mine was when I found out I was getting a new brother.

Can't we just get a puppy or kitten instead??

No joke, that was what I said. My parents LOVE to tell this story over and over again! <_<

My brother was mad for the first year or so...he wanted another brother. I broke the tie of two boys and two girls.

Congrats, dgilbert!
