tireredsquare Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 (edited) Since I am stationed in the US Army here in Germany, I have an APO AE address. That means that everytime I check one of these pre selected sites I cant get ****. I am moving back to the states in July so hopefully around August or September I can check again as my new stateside address should be reported by then. Edited June 6, 2008 by Stryker profanity Quote
Stryker Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Seriously - did I give some special nookie to a CapOne exec's forefather in a previous life or WHAT? Oh, come on Stryker, you know you thought that was funny. LOL! Another preapproval site: https://www.spiegel.com/credit/eligcheck.asp Quote
shaft Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Anyone know if there's a site for Citibank? Thanks! Citi is all hard or nothing. Except for that luv button spree most people went on. They do an occasional small CLI. Quote
barstowtrade Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Thanks, Shaft. I think I was confusing the luv button with the selector. Quote
barkeep Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I went to the cap1 site.. how do they pre approve you.. did I go to the wrong site? They did not ask for a ss# .. Quote

FPapiSalOC Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 Congratulations! You're approved. You have been approved for a Capital One® credit card. You should receive your card and welcome materials within 7-10 business days. Quote

ls21 Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 krdvg, Just tried these and no pre-approved offer. Checked EX and TU and no softs showing. Then again Amex doesn't show on my reports and since I have Cap1 I have no idea if they show from the pre-approval or monthly AR. Quote

coharie Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Dont count on this being a gaurantee....iIread the disclaimer...you can pre-qualify and still be denied.....and it will be a Hard pull! Quote
alleycatdee Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 This is a total waste. The HSBC link said I could get a Weekender card and when I applied for it they denied me. So I guess I just don't see the point of a pre-selector. Now I've burned an INQ Quote

Even then, nothing is guaranteed. Quote
dj13624 Posted July 1, 2008 Posted July 1, 2008 I agree.. since I tried today with HSBC (they said on the website that you can have 2 cards, and I only have one). I got declined, but it wasnt because of credit.. it was because I have only had my card since August 2007. They require 18 months between opening accounts. Would have been nice if they had told me that BEFORE I sacrificed a hard pull.. /sigh Quote
hairmetal4ever Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 So after a extensive search on CB & Google, the below credit card sites are the only ones I could find that pull 'soft' inquiries to see if you qualify for their cards. HSBC (Non Orchard Bank): https://www.hsbcapply.com/start/hsbccreditc...0802000172HPHHX ORCHARD BANK: https://www.hsbcapply.com/start/orchardbank...0802000161HPHHX BOFA: https://preapproved.bankofamerica.com/cc/SelfInquiry.aspx AMEX: https://www201.americanexpress.com/card lol denied Please list any other 'soft pulling' card sites that allow you for the chance of pre-approval. Since I've opted out, I get like NO credit card offers anymore It'd be much appreciated. And for the record, these don't work with *B. Two questions: 1. What does *B mean? I see it all over. 2. Is a soft pull the kind that doesn't show when another creditor looks to see who pulled? Does a soft pull not count against FICO unlike a "hard" pull - is that the difference? Quote
hairmetal4ever Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 I want the blue one Its so pwetty So do I, so I converted my Delta SkyMiles card to an Amex Blue. No problems, no questions asked. I always was denied for the Blue, so I figure i can apply for the SkyMiles again in 6-12 months, so i can have both :-D lmao Does the Skymiles show up as one of the possible cards on the Amex site or is it only the "straight" Amex (with no "Partners" like Delta) that show here? lee57 Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 I did pre selector for Orchard and Cap One, which I already have. They said I was pre-approved. I went for the hard pull and was declined for both stating I already had accts with them. Now why didn't they say that at the pre-approval? I wasted 2 hardpulls Quote
