Received my new Departures mag and the 2008 program guide. Very nice.

I guess what you are saying is I really need to go check the box...

And in keeping with the original topic, all is still well here on the AMEX front.

My one and only AMEX Blue is still hanging in there. My CL is 10k, however I hardly use it because I think I am paranoid that they are going to decline a charge. They are still watching my report quite frequently, however there hasn't been very much action as of late other than some CLI's.

AMEX ACCOUNT REVIEW = monthly - mid month

AMERICAN EXPRESS CO = anytime there is a 'trigger' - in October they pulled 5 times PLUS the monthly AR

What makes you feel that they would "decline a charge"???? If AMEX was worried about your creditworthiness, they would have already put through a CLD. I'd use the card in good health!!!!!!

I've used my AMEX all over the world for over 10 years with nary a F/R or CLD in spite of many CLIs and substantial charging.

Good Luck,

AMEX and I are still on good terms. Used to hit love button every month but have relaxed since F/R rash 06-08 (Didn't really need the higher limits). Sock drawered Clear and carrying a small balance on the Blue.

If Amex's pulls the F/R stunt I'll payoff and walk away.... No need for the margin call on a CC account. Chase, BOA, Juniper and Citi are all treating me quite well.

What sort of 'triggers'?

I just looked at my most recent report directly from EX and based on this report, in Oct. AMEX pulled 1 day after NASA pulled a hard and one day after Citi pulled a hard so that counts for 2. The other 3 either came from the Junami accounts or possibly 3 other new accounts reporting. Just the standard 'triggers' that have been discussed on here.

Good Luck,

I know you like your Blue, however based on the reason I gave before, I choose not to use it very often. Also, I make more money using other cards due to their rewards structures.

I will be the first to admit that I have given AMEX a some reasons to question my credit worthiness - too many new accounts in the past 12 months, too many inq's (I live in an area that is serviced primarily by EX) and I have 'too much available credit' according to Citi and Barclays.

Ah ok. It's safe to assume AMEX will A/R after new INQs appear on EX and when new account report.

What's the difference between the two?

I believe the first is set-up do complete routine ARs automatically. The other is enacted when a "flag" factor occurs on customer's report. The system will soft pull as a result.

That is consistent with what I have been seeing with mine...

AE has pulled my reports every time Experian issues an alert. My last alert was for a new Citi card. AE did a soft. AE is like a my psychotic ex-husband who use to follow me around. Is there a cost associated with soft pulls?

Still going strong with the weak limit. Figured I'd ask here...

I've read that Amex makes you wait for 6 months for CLI requests. If you ask and get denied, do you have to wait another 6 months to ask again? And EX soft, right?
