I've been using my Grandcentral number on all of my apps. I applied for a bank account with citibank and had a horrible experience with customer service so I didn't open the account. I started getting calls from them to do an automated survey. I can't be bothered. Yesterday I looged into grandcentral and set that phone number to "disconnected." Now every time that phone number calls me they get a "disconnected" message!

I love it!! I wish I had CA's calling me so I could do the same!

I do the same thing with Verizon's Iobi service.

I have CA's calling my number from the previous owner and I have IOBI set up to forward the calls back and forth to all the CA's that are calling!

Wouldn't you love to be a fly on the wall when Asset calls and they get NCO on the line? :cry2:

My grown DD has an ex-hubby that keeps calling at all hours of the night. Her only phone is a Cell Phone. Will Grandcentral work for that and how much does it cost?

No, it will not work for her. I think it's free for now, but won't be for long. It only works if someone doesn't already have your phone number. Then you can attach new numbers to it.

Grandcentral is free (for now. it is still in beta.) Basically they give you a phone number that you can use to forward to your cell phone. It has many features that your phone company doesn't have. You can even record phone calls. I don't give it out to friends just in case I get rid of it at some point but it's perfect to use for credit card companies/banks. I have made sure this is the phone number that appaers on my credit report. It's very useful.

I have it and used it on all my CC apps. So far no one calls me at all....

I really hated those annoying "credit life ins" protection from the card, they would call me 4 ever in an accent laced form of English I could not understand. I went online to the CC sites and changed all my numbers.

I have invites left, just pm me with you full name and email addy, give me a day to add you. No problemo!!!

Anyone wanting an invite, please PM me your email address.

I will look first thing in the morning before going out of town for the day. The rest will have to wait until Sunday evening.

Only a few left. First come, first served.

I've got a grand central number, but so far I can't really figure out what good it will do me. Have seperate land line for home, and both myself and SO have cell phones'

Only good thing I see so far, is the area code does match my address as does my land line but not my cell #'s.

I don't ever use my cell numbers since they don't match geographically, and I know from experience that will trigger a red flag on apps.

But then again, I'm not the smartest when it comes to newer technology.
