I tried to get a dept consolidation loan today from citifinancial. I am currently a citifinancial customer as I have my auto loan with them. I had one auto loan with them and it is paid off and I currently have another one with them. I understand that my score is ridiculously low but how are you supposed to improve your credit when you can't get any kind of CC or loan approval?! I'm getting so frustrated with everything! I wanted to get the personal loan to get rid of some high interest loans. I have 5 baddies with two listing as OK. I can't even get store credit!! What is the deal? I have target card and fingerhut and two citifinancial autos that list never been late, I also don't have any collections! I'm getting pretty frustrated at this point! Does anyone know a company that offers personal loans that might give me a chance other then prosper. I don't know or understand how prosper works and don't feel that that is best for me at the moment.

Welcome to CreditBoards! We hope that you find what you're looking for here. Some helpful tips:

  • Your post may not get a reply right away. Don't be discouraged, this is a very busy board. If it falls off of the first page, feel free to reply to your post yourself, with the word *bump* in the text. This will *bump* your post back up to the top of the board.
  • If you haven't yet, take a peek at out Newbies Section. Everything that you need to know is in that forum, for the most part! It's a lot of reading, we know, but this credit stuff can have a steep learning curve. In no time, you'll be posting like the pros!
  • If you find that someone is discourteous to you, use the REPORT button at the bottom of every post - that will ensure that a moderator or admin looks at the post and decides if it is against the TOS.
  • Off -topic posts should go in the General Forum.

Again, welcome to the CreditBoards family! CB Admin: LKH, Pam, radi8, breezeCB Mods: cotterpin, CargoJon, CramitCCCA's, fla-tan, MarvBear, psp, pryan67Forum Leads: TeeSharice, orangecrush and Four20Nik

I have been getting those $5000 offers as well. When they don't mention the APR it is always scary.

I called the guy to try and pull info out of him. He asked if I owned a home, I said no. He said I'd have to have a 650 experian to even have my foot in the door.

I have 660 now, but I'm not going to bother. I have a ton of experian INQs already.

If it was $5000 @ 20% APR it wouldn't even be worth doing. I don't have any debts to pay really anyway.
