Hey everyone.

If you have DW, SO, or you are a lady in here, please help. :?

I am 7 months Preggers and am in desperate need of some nice clothing  .

Unfortunately stores like Target and Motherhood R4 shorter women and I have long legs and I am couple of inches taller than most ladies, and LB is a great choice for me to get some nice digs that won't be 6 inches above my ankle or 3 '' above my wrist.

I have an EQ FICO of 654 and my only derogs are:

EQ: CH 13 Dismissed $0 liabilities 1995 (they refuse to delete)

CH 13 Dismissed $0 liabilities 1998 (they refuse to delete)

There are 21 good tradelines w/oldest from 1995 CU MasterCard, NO derogs or lates

EX: CO from Heilig Meyers 1997(Won't investigate- really not mine)

22 good accounts, 4 closed...no lates

TU: CH 13 Dismissed $0 liabilities 1998 (they refuse to delete) 24 good accounts, no lates

No inquiries since CA from 1995 did hard pull 9/2003

So, if anyone has had this card or a similar WFNB card, please honestly tell me what my chances are? They are running a special here for 20% off purchase w/approval and 90 days SAC for $150 purchase. Do they usually do reconsideration :?:

Me: a Sub teacher. I am in a catch-22- Job available, but no cash to buy clothes and don't want to put it on my MC or Visa. I've popped out of my pre-preg clothes literally. School doesn't allow sweats

I'd have to double check but I think they pull EQ...

I bought maternity clothes for my last 2 out of Old Navy....they have tall sizes and ya can buy online..I just went up 1 or 2 sizes & went for the Tall...( if ya wear a size 8, buy size 12-tall)

I also got a few things from Gap & Sears believe it or not...all from the Tall section( Im slightly over 5'9'')

For what its worth, I think Motherhood's clothes are crap...nothing Ive ever bought from them lasted thruought the pregnancy

As far as LB, If you arent "thick" post partum, you will have a lot of expensive clothes ya will likely never wear again.

Thanks, Tee. That's some good advice. See the reason I need a store card is b/c of my cashflow prob. 3 of my best CC are joint w/SO and his score is pretty much dead (556) because he has 96% utilization from being laid off a looong time, and me too sick to work until now. I love Old Navy and Gap, but would love to have their CC for discounts and to keep purchases separate and off SO poor sick CR. We've had to keep Visa/MC open for Emergencies since we have 2-y/o just had tonsil/aden-ectomy in NOv. and our bills are OUTRAGEOUS. Got MBNA(AU) with nearly $19K balance, and Citibank just increased our CL but I need it for tuition balance, books, etc. It'll be maxed out in 60days. Sears I can use, but it's joint w/SO and his credit is hurting too much :?

And yes, MS. TEE...I've gotten pretty thick in the rear area! (Why I need LB) With son, I was all stomach. With this one, stomack protrudes like 4'' past my boobies and I have a butt now! It's awful. I hope this one's a girl!!! ;)

*Sings* My body's too Bootyliscous for ya babyyyyyy! Beyonce and J-Lo would be jealous of my butt now! :P

Got a NY&Co (back when it was Lerner's) card from WFNNB shortly out of BK. Don't

know what scores were back then, but couldn't have been good.

There is no more LERNER & CO!?? Oh my Gosh!!!! That was 1 of my 1st CCs...also one of the first I messed up ;)

Its been years since I thought about shopping there.....gotta keep that in mind for my next casual clothes shopping spree....

If you already owe $19k + in revolving debt, the last thing I think you need is more revolving debt. If you need new clothes is it not at all possible for you to simply pay for them now? If not, do you have friends or family who can give you some of their clothes for the duration of your pregnancy?

I got a WFFNB account (jewelry store) with a horrible score, but I was joint with SO who had a fine score....

I believe they pulled TU on me in Delaware....well, I live in PA, store was in Delaware....hey, when you're spending $4500 on an engagement ring, drive to the state with no sales tax!!!!

:D

Dear Ms. Creditmania:

My SO owes the $19K to MBNA hence WE owe it. Many of those charges are mine and I pay the bill, too. The only reason we owe it is due to a long layoff and me not working. SO just got another job and MBNA will be paid off by middle of 2005 hopefully. The MBNA is on my CR and I just got a letter from them after I asked to be deleted as AU so it can be removed from my CR this month. That is why I don't want to use any shared or AU card b/c they are on SO's CR!!!!!

My personal revolving debt is only $1800 from my own personal Crap 1 card w/a $2700 CL. I have a student loan that is deferred until 11/2005.

The other cards are joint (Target($106), Sears($0), Dillards($0), JCPenney($0), Credit Union MC($453 recurrent charges) The balance on them get paid off each month.

So to answer your question,

#1 I do not have any friends or family who can give me professional maternity or larger/tall clothing. My mother is 5'2 and 104lbs. All my friends are unpregnant, skinny, and under 5'6.

#2 The Lane Bryant card is good at Lerner's and Brylane, and Chadwicks, etc. and can be used at a later time. It will be my own card.

#3 A couple hundred dollars of revolving credit w/0% interest is not going to hurt me. I pay my bills.

#4 I have a job- No cash as I said before- LB gives a discount and 90 days SAC option.

#5 I get paid bi-weekly. That is more than enough time to pay off a $200 charge for clothes that will be used until the end of the school year. The weight is not going to fall off that fast after delivery.

If you need new clothes is it not at all possible for you to simply pay for them now?

Please read my original post...No cash, hun! Unless you want me to charge them to SO's MBNA or Citibank that's about to be maxed out! I said before, just had a kid w/surgery. Need the CC's open (that includes my own Crap 1) for emergency purchases. I have to show up for work to get the money. I have to show up for work in clothes that are not long T-shirts or Sam's club sweat suits.

I hope that clarified things!

Pinay...Umm why are you explaining yourself??  its SOooOoo not worth it...

*YOU* know the risks if you are not going to pay your bills, how it affects ya FICO, etc...that is the very reason why ya on this board.

Tee, help me girl! I'm about to go crazy in here Manila-style! Tee, me and you are the same height, so HOLD me back Girl!!! Grrrr... Why do people insist on being so smug? It's like everytime I say something, there is some smart-flowers comment from certain person that doesn't even answer the question. What points are they trying to make? Do people do things like that to purposefully ilicit a response or to irk? I'm not the only one who has had to take a breather after certain persons made smug remarks.

Hell, I'm just trying to get some slacks and a couple of tops, dang. Gotta go all out and call people on a debt knowing the reason is legitimate! Would I be asking if I just had 'friends and family' throwing maternity business clothes my way?

Inquiring minds want to know  and Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :x

OK my daughter just told me that NY Style IS Lerner...I was confused....they just changed names....

For what its worth, Id say if ya want to open a account at a store, Id say do it somewhere it will do ya the most good....ya wont use Motherhood much after ya pregnant...so IX-NAY that ....

LB only carrise size 14 & Up.....if that fits ya pre-preggo state, then thats a viable option....keep in mind they arent the cheapest store around...

Like I said, I did Old Navy....and Gap....then again 80% of my clothes come from there anyway, pregnant or not...

Otherwise, get anotehr Visa/MC that ya can be flexible with....ya gotta make this thing work for you....

Another idea is...Babies R Us....they sell maternity clothes there & everything ya could need or want for the baby....

ya already 7 months along....I wouldnt get a whole new wardrobe for less than 12 weeks....

Good Luck

Seriously, have ya tried Goodwill?? They actually have some pretty good stuff there that wont kill your budget. I think I spent like $75 for a lot of maternity or stretchy clothes there. I wasn't "ms Vogue" but they served their purpose. Best wishes to you and your baby!!

GREAT IDEA!!!!

Tee, don't people of your ethnic persuasion wash? I heard your sweet tea stinks like ten day old tuna. No wonder you people are discriminated against - so you should be!

The UP side is, people in America are slowly but surely changing their views and are realizing the errors of their ways....

Unfortunately for you, my sweet tea is in much better shape than your credit & your life....Pathetic twit

LOL..thanks unrullie...

I tried a few consignment shops. Clothes were awful! Lots of lint balls and thread. LOL Would do Ebay but the cash issue thing...

I'm gonna try for the approval and if declined, ask for reconsideration at least.

Another idea is to try consignment shops in "well to do" neighborhoods...they often take Visa and have very nice things

I wouldn't give up on the Goodwill, etc. idea. It depends upon location. I have been in some in which there were some upscale brands donated in excellent condition, and some with tags still attached. I got a $79 silk blouse with tags attached for around $10 at one. There was nothing wrong with the blouse, so I thought the small investment might be worth it.

Creditmania - it's obvious why you are in the United States... england kicked your ignorant flowers out because they realized you are a simple-minded worthless piece of chocolate. You are cordially invited to go have sex with yourself.

Pam and other owners - post this mouse's email address -- or IP addy will do nicely. Yall could probably file federal criminal charges against her - subpoena her real name/address from her ISP -- pretty sure her harassing behavior is a violation of federal law (CDA). Throw her british flowers into an American prison.
